'Euphoria' Season 2 is inching closer to what can only be called a humdinger of a finale. The secrets have been revealed and so is the true shade of the characters. The previous episode was all Zendaya's Rue and was perhaps the most stressful of the season so far. Her drug use and relapses weren't missed and she has a showdown with her mother, while Jules and Elliot were sitting in the other room listening to the entire argument. It was later revealed that Jules ratted out that Rue was using again.

Rue goes on to drop another bomb at the Howard residence by revealing that Cassie and Nate have been sleeping with each other and manages to give everyone the slip. Expect Episode 6 to be all about the Cassie, Nate, and Maddy showdown but also a plot twist. The promo of the upcoming episode titled 'A Thousand Little Trees of Blood' sheds light on Cassie's state. "They weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend!” she screams in one of the scenes while she cries hysterically in the other.

'Euphoria' Season 2 Episode 5 Review: It's all Rue as Zendaya delivers gripping performance

Fans hail 'Euphoria' Season 2 Episode 5 as the best ever and the most HEARTBREAKING

The Nate and Cassie relationship has been one of the key storylines of the season and with Maddy now in possession of Cal’s sex tape with Jules, she contemplates getting revenge on the duo over the phone. Is blackmail one of the options? Certainly looks that way. Unsurprisingly, a gun appears on the promo as well and Nate, who is shown to have been working out, can also be heard saying, “I’m not here to apologize." So are we looking at him threatening Maddy to back off instead?

It's also possible that Nate uses the gun to get the sex tape back from Maddy and maybe that's where they strike an agreement. Such is the juxtaposing of scenes in 'Euphoria's promos that figuring out an angle becomes quite the task, but safe to say, there is a battle brewing and only time will tell how it pans out for any of the three characters. With the previous episode focusing on Rue, this one's back to the toxic love triangle.

'Euphoria' airs Sunday nights at 9 pm on HBO.
