'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 is delivering one mindblowing punch after another, making fans excited for the already renewed third season, which has already started filming. Some leaked set photos have revealed the arrival of some familiar faces in the third installment. The photos feature Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter). Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) can also be seen in the pictures. Ritter is set to make a comeback as everyone's favorite investigator in the later episodes of Season 2. While it is not entirely known whether the other two will make a return in the currently airing season, they are definitely heading back to New York City (NYC) in the third one. Hence, it is official, ‘Defenders’ are back in action.

Neither Marvel Studios nor the actors have shared anything regarding their comeback. In Season 2, Fisk has officially outlawed all vigilantes in NYC. This caused Daredevil to go underground and seek Jones’ help. The other two may have also come onto the scene to help him. There are also many other ways in which Iron Fist and Luke Cage can be incorporated into the current situation in the show. Showrunner Dario Scardapane has previously confirmed that the primary antagonist's mayoral era, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), has come to an end. In the recent images, Colter is seen donning a business suit under his robes, which could imply that his character is gearing up to take over the role of mayor from the villain.

With his immense wealth, Fist may be bankrolling his close friend’s pursuit. The upcoming season may also delve into the on-again, off-again dynamic between Jones and Cage. Other possibilities include all four characters, including Daredevil, becoming a part of the ‘Heroes for Hire’ venture. This is a popular storyline from the Marvel comics that fans have been begging for a long time. All four characters headlined their own series on Netflix from 2015 to 2019 and also came together for an Avengers-esque series, ‘The Defenders.’  Since Daredevil’s revival in the form of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ fans have been urging for the comeback of this superhero family.

Ritter's return was announced months ahead of Season 2's premiere. Colter did not make any obvious declarations, but hinted in a podcast episode for 'Inside of You' that he might also reprise the part of the ex-con at some point. “I’ve had discussions with Marvel," he said, "and I do think that it’s very, very likely that I will come back at some point, but I don’t know when. But I think I will." Jones earlier shared his desire to return for a purpose. He essentially wants the opportunity to work on the criticisms that Iron Fist received throughout his Netflix run, like whitewashing and white savior complex. “My response to that is like, 'Give me a f---ing chance, man,'" he continues. "I’m here, and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen." 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 is dropping episodes weekly on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Disney+. The season finale will be released on May 5, 2026.
