Has ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’ been renewed? Jon Hamm reveals Season 2 ends on huge cliffhanger
Season 2 of the black comedy 'Your Friends & Neighbors' premiered on Apple TV+ on Friday. Created by Jonathan Tropper, the crime drama series finds John Hamm's hedge fund manager Andrew 'Coop' Cooper continuing his suburban heists in his affluent neighborhood of Westmont Village. After getting wrongfully framed for the murder of Paul Levitt in Season 1, the show follows Coop's latest adventures in the 10-part Season 2. As the first episode has aired, fans have gotten a taste of the kind of trouble awaiting Coop in the show's second chapter. The series will drop episodes weekly until the finale on June 5.
While promoting Season 2 of 'Your Friends and Neighbors,' Hamm visited Andy Cohen's radio show at SiriusXM on April 1. The 55-year-old actor revealed that, unlike Season 1, the second will end on a cliffhanger, adding, "A huge one, in fact." The cliffhanger remains a mystery for now, but since the series has already been renewed for Season 3, we know it will be addressed in the next season. Furthermore, James Marsden has been a big addition to Season 2 as the billionaire Owen Ashe, who makes a fashionable entry into Westmont Village in his expensive sports car. He meets Coop at his housewarming party and is sure to stir more chaos while playing a huge role in the show's central conflict. The 'Mad Men' star also gave a shout-out to his latest co-star, James Marsden, in the radio interview by saying that "Marsden kills it this season. It’s so good."
Additionally, Cohen questioned Hamm about the events of Season 3 that will follow the Season 3 cliffhanger. Although Hamm didn't divulge any plot details, he did share that he had already read the scripts up to Episode 6 and also gave a production update for the show's third installment. "We’re gonna start shooting [Season 3] in, like, a month … It’s in the works. It’s very fun and exciting, the third season, but the second season is a wonderful ride." For now, fans can focus on Coop's second career as a robber of expensive items and figure out whether Ashe contributes to his downfall or becomes his ally.
The series also stars Amanda Peet as Mel Cooper, Olivia Munn as Samantha Levitt, Hoon Lee as Barney Choi, Lena Hall as Allison 'Ali' Cooper, Isabel Gravitt as Tori Cooper, Donovan Colan as Hunter Cooper, Aimee Carrero as Coop's partner-in-crime Elena, and Mark Tallman as the NBA player Nick Brandes, among others. Tune in to Apple TV+ on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT to watch the latest episodes of 'Your Friends & Neighbors' Season 2.
