And the 72nd Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing For A Limited Series, Movie Or Dramatic Special goes to HBO's 'Watchmen' Episode 6 'This Extraordinary Being', which was written by Damon Lindelof and Cord Jefferson. After quite the tight competition and in what comes as a deserving win, 'Watchmen' Episode 6 written by Damon Lindelof and Cord Jefferson took home the award. The award was presented by Randall Park - who did it with an alpaca.

The writers pointed out how important it was for them to write about the 1921 Tulsa race massacre adding how the country tends to forget its own history. While accepting the award, Lindelof got overwhelmed and dedicated the award to the victims and survivors of the Tulsa massacre and called for unity in the face of adversity. "The fires that destroyed Black Wall Street still burn today," he said. "The only way to put them out is if we all fight them together."

This year, the superhero drama series took home 11 Emmys in total, including Regina King for best actress in a limited series or movie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II for best supporting actor in a limited series or movie, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for best music composition for a limited series, movie, or special, Gregory Middleton for best cinematography for a limited series or movie, Victoria Thomas and Meagan Lewis for best casting for a limited series, movie, or special, and Sharen Davis and Valerie Zielonka for best fantasy/ sci-fi costumes.

This year, the show was pitted against part 1 of Netflix's 'Unorthodox', written by Anna Winger, Episode 1 of Netflix's miniseries 'Unbelievable', the teleplay for which was written by Susannah Grant, Michael Chabon, and Ayelet Waldman, and episode 3 of Sally Rooney and Alice Birch Hulu series 'Normal People' (with three other nominations).

The other top contender was FX Network's 'Mrs. America's Episode 3 'Shirley', which is written by Tanya Barfield. The episode followed Uzo Aduba as Shirley Chisholm making a historic run for president, a performance that was very much appreciated among critics and audiences. The show also has nine other nominations this season.

The show deserves this and all other accolades in its name this year.
