As COVID-19 continues to claim lives around the world, relief efforts from altruistic individuals are pouring in. Rapper Eminem has joined the relief efforts with full force and that too creatively.

The 47-year-old rapper donated his pair of the rare Jordan 4 Retro 'Carhartt x Eminem' sneakers to StockX, a shoe auction site. The money raised will be used for relief efforts on the frontlines. It's a rare pair because it happens to be one of the few that the rapper possesses since debuting the highly coveted sneakers in 2015. There were only 10 pairs available on eBay at that time and proceeds from that auction had gone to the Marshall Mathers Foundation. Since the 2015 auction, a few of the pairs made it to the rappers closest ones while any resales since then have been sold for more $20,000. In this current auction, the bidder will also receive a "vintage 'Detroit Slim'" shirt!

The rapper took to Twitter to announce the news tweeting, "Cleanin' out my closet... donating extra pair of my @Jumpman23 @Carhartt 4's along with a vintage T to @stockx. Proceeds go to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. http://shady.sr/StockX (sic)." The tweet also included a poster for the shoe and the auction. A single ticket for the auction will cost $10 and bidders are allowed to by how many ever they want in order to help increase their odds of winning the rare pair of sneakers.

Eminem boasts a net worth of $230 million. Considered to be one of the highest-paid entertainers in the world, he has also made it in the top '25 Richest Rappers in the World' list sitting at No, 6. In 1997, Eminem's ' The Slim Shady LP' went platinum after his original solo album, ‘Infinite’, that was released in 1996, failed. Since 1997, the rapper has released enough albums to have kept his fans captivated along with having dols over 40 million copies in the United States.

This is not the first time the rapper has used his wealth to help support his community. Most recently, Eminem donated packaged 'Mom's Spaghetti' to the frontline healthcare workers at the Henry Ford Health System Hospital in Detroit. The team took to their Instagram page to thank the rapper with a picture of the food and a caption that read, "Our #HealthcareHeroes “lost themselves” in the delicious Mom’s Spaghetti donated by Detroit’s very own, @eminem. Thank you for providing a special meal for our team members!"

Detroit Medical Center workers also took to Twitter, posting that they also received free supplies of the pasta dish. The post read: "Thank you Union Joints for the generous donation of meals to support our staff. They served one of their specialties, also a favorite of Eminem, titled “Mom’s Spaghetti.” We offer our heartfelt thanks and are grateful for the support."

Eminem fans were quick to get the reference. The name 'Mom's Spaghetti' comes from the lyrics to Eminem's 2002 track 'Lose Yourself': 'His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / there's vomit on his sweater already - mom's spaghetti.'
