'Felt like a piece of meat being judged': Emily Ratajkowski reveals why she her quit splendid Hollywood career
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Emily Ratajkowski is conscious of the attention she is receiving and her decision to quit the showbiz industry. The model, actress, and author revealed her decision to quit acting in a recent interview. She has previously appeared in an array of roles opposite performers like Ben Affleck, Amy Schumer, and Zac Efron.
The 2014 film 'Gone Girl', in which Ratajkowski played Nick's mistress, garnered her an Oscar nomination. She later appeared in films like 'We Are Your Friends', 'I Feel Pretty', and 'Easy' alongside Efron, Schumer, and Marc Maron, respectively. Her most recent audition was for Ruben Ostlund's 'Triangle of Sadness', but the part ultimately was given to Charlbi Dean Kriek, who died last year, per The Hollywood Reporter.

'You all hate women'
Ratajkowski, 31, said in the in-depth interview that she felt more like a "piece of meat" than a true artist because of the way she was treated. She ultimately made the decision to walk away from the profession since she was no longer interested in adhering to the rules of "boys clubs." The 'Cruise' actor said that even while she and her team worked hard to secure jobs that demonstrated how she was a "serious actress with longevity" and she didn't feel like she was performing as an artist. "I felt like a piece of meat who people were judging, saying, 'Does she have anything else other than her [breasts]?'" remarked Ratajkowski, according to the Los Angeles Times.
In 2020, she fired her manager, acting agency, and commercial rep because she was sick of "making herself digestible to powerful men in Hollywood." This move was driven by a lack of "trust" in the three individuals. The mother-of-one added, "I was like, ‘I can handle receiving phone calls. I’m gonna make these decisions. None of you have my best interest at heart. And you all hate women.'"
What's Emily Ratajkowski been up to?
In the interview, Ratajkowski also talked about her relationship with Pete Davidson and the way that he appeals to women. Even Ratajkowski's friends, she claimed, were curious about how Kim Kardashian's ex managed to date so many stunning women. Just after Christmas, Davidson and Ratajkowski's quicksand relationship came to an end, as per the Daily Mail.
Later, Davidson began dating his co-star from 'Bodies, Bodies, Bodies', Chase Sui Wonders. In the meantime, Ratajkowski has been on the hunt for love, dating people like DJ Orazio Rispo, artist Jack Greer, comic Eric Andre, and most recently, Harry Styles in Japan. While she had stated she wasn't considering dating any guys, she did acknowledge that certain things might arise.
Emily Ratajkowski as an influencer
It's hard to believe that Ratajkowski first rose to fame 10 years ago for dancing topless next to Robin Thicke in the contentious 'Blurred Lines' video. Since then, she has grown to be one of the industry's most in-demand supermodels, walking the catwalk with Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, and this season, she is the face of Versace and Tory Burch campaigns.
The 'Gone Girl' actor continues to post provocative shots of her body on Instagram, where she has 29.9 million followers. In a post, she holds up her nude breasts to display her tan lines in a thong bikini. She's seductive, but she's also cheeky about it. In one TikTok video showing herself wiggling her rear in the middle of the street, she captioned it, "Me coming out of a sad girl day to check in on the step father applications in my DMs."
