SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk has claimed that parents or doctors who authorize or perform sex-change surgeries on minors should receive a life sentence in prison. Musk made this remark in response to the new gender dysphoria regulations adopted by the Florida Medical Board.

On Friday, April 14, Musk reacted to a tweet that mentioned measures made by Florida's medical boards to deny access to hormone therapy and puberty blockers to children under the age of 18 who experience gender dysphoria. Florida is one of the states with restrictions on teen transgender care, according to DailyMail. The state's Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine both established regulations banning surgical treatments for those under the age of 18 with the support of Governor Ron DeSantis. Board members stated that the irreversibility of the medications and the rising number of people seeking to "de-transition," were factors in the decision.

Elon Musk mercilessly trolled for embarrassing conversation with Twitter employee

'To mutilate a child is insane'

The billionaire CEO of Tesla and Twitter tweeted, "Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life." Many people got into heated arguments with one another after Musk posted the tweet.

One person wrote, "What about teens getting bariatric surgeries for weight loss? Teen girls getting nose jobs and breast implants? That all happens A LOT more than any gender affirming hormone therapies. But I'm gonna guess you don’t have a problem with those." Another responded, "And none of those are even close to being equivalent. Having a pretty nose is not the same as having your ovaries obliterated and missing puberty"

A third person wrote, "Liberals are absolutely evil, stupid, and upside down. To mutilate a child is insane, and to think Florida is being destroyed is like saying the Sun has gone cold. We have the best state in the USA. I'd give DeSantis kinghood if I could." This other person wrote, "Most people in real life agree with this even if they are left leaning."

One individual wrote, "Regardless of whether the surgery is appropriate for children, this is not a helpful response. 'People doing a thing I hate should be punished with a long prison sentence' does nothing for society... except continue to make us the world’s leader, by far, in incarceration." Another replied, "It stops 'the thing' from continuing to happen, and discourages others to try 'the thing.'"

'Can't win them all'

Vivian Jenna Wilson, Musk's transgender daughter, declared in 2022 that she had no desire to interact with her father after being granted a legal request to change her name and gender identity when she turned 18. A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge granted Wilson's petition in June 2022.

Wilson stated, "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form" in her request for the court to change her name to reflect her gender identity, according to DailyMail. Musk blamed American colleges in October 2022 for influencing his daughter Wilson against him.

Musk further attributed the distance between him and his daughter to "neo-Marxists" at prestigious colleges and universities in an interview with the Financial Times. "It may change, but I have very good relationships with all the others. Can't win them all," Musk said, appearing to shrug off his relationship with Wilson.
