LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Elite' Season 8 opened with a dramatic party scene that turned into a crime spot. Joel (Fernando Líndez) is found naked and dead. Identity of the culprit remains a mystery and the narrative goes into the flashback to the beginning of the year.

The following episodes showcased what happened in Las Encinas up until the night of Joel's murder in Episode 5.

In 'Elite' Season 8 Episode 5, Joel continues his side hustle at the Alumni Club, earning tons of money in exchange for sexual pleasure. When Dalmar (Iván Mendes) fears deportation because of Carmen's threat, Joel introduces him to the exclusive club as well.

On the night of the end-of-year party, Joel has organized a secret gathering for the club. After a long evening of sex and intimacy, he falls asleep. When he wakes up, someone attacks him from behind, slitting his throat.

During the same night, Ivan (André Lamoglia), who seems heavily under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the party, loses consciousness.

Dalmar, who tries to help him, is also mysteriously attacked and rendered unconscious. The spot where they both collapse is the same place where Joel's body was found in Episode 1.

While the episode doesn't give away the mystery as yet, we have new suspects in Joel's murder.

Before Joel was killed at the alumni gathering, he was cornered by Chloe Silva (Mirela Balić) and Eric de Velasco Viveros (Gleb Abrosimov) at the same location.

Eric held a knife to Joel's neck, threatening him because Joel was blackmailing Chloe's mother, Carmen Silva (Maribel Verdú).

Joel had earlier demanded a quarter million from Carmen to help Dalmar, threatening to show the police a recording implicating her in Raul's (Álex Pastrana) murder if she didn't comply.

When Chloe learned about the blackmail, she paired with Eric to scare Joel and make him back off. When they secretly attacked him at the alumni meet, Joel and Dalmar overpowered them and they had to leave.

Carmen was later shocked to know that Joel not only threatened her but also hurt her daughter. Though at this point, it's not clear if Carmen, Chloe, and Eric went back to kill Joel, it surely makes them suspects. They have the motive and the courage to orchestrate something like this.

Carmen knew that meeting Joel's demand won't solve anything and she would continue to live in fear for herself and Chloe. Only by killing Joel, she would be free from the threats.

Let's see if Carmen, Eric, and Chloe are indeed the killers or if there's more suspense waiting to unfold in upcoming episodes.
