5 unknown facts about Ed Sheeran

1. Ed Sheeran started singing at the age of 4

The majority of those who choose a career in music start out very young. For Sheeran, it was the same.  At the age of 4, he began singing in the church choir. At an early age, he also picked up the guitar, and at the age of 14, he even released an EP. Sheeran relocated to London in 2008 at the age of 16, and in 2009, he had given more than 300 live performances.

2. Philanthropy

When Sheeran played in Bristol, he helped a charity that supports street sex workers by raising 40,000 pounds. Ed Sheeran remarked, "It's important to demonstrate understanding that these people are real people with real emotions and they deserve the same charitable work as anyone else."

3. More than a singer

Sheeran also writes songs. Along with creating all of his own songs, he has collaborated on the popular song 'Moments' by One Direction for their first album, which was released in November 2011.

4. Multilingual? Not really!

Sheeran speaks English as well as a little bit of German, French, and Greek. Perhaps that is a slight exaggeration. "Sadly not, I failed german and french at school aswell," Sheeran tweeted in response to a fan page asking him if he spoke Spanish. Only the phrase "I love candy" can be found in Ed's limited French, Greek, and German vocabulary, according to the singer himself. The Shivers' singer describes himself as an effective 'Lion King' speaker.

5. Names his guitars

Sheeran makes a point of tailoring his musical experience. Therefore, Lloyd, Felix, Cyril, and Nigel are the names of his four guitars. Those four guitars have been traveling with their owner for more than ten years, which is a long time considering Sheeran's incredible popularity.
