E Jean Carroll's bizarre 2019 interview with Anderson Cooper goes viral for all the wrong reasons
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: E Jean Carroll's toe-curling interview with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper left him stuttering and immediately cutting to a break after Carroll expressed her disagreement with his assertion that most people perceive rape as a violent assault. Carroll made headlines in 2019, after accusing former President Donald Trump of raping her but said she will not seek rape charges against him because she "can handle it."
However, during the interview, Cooper was caught off-guard when Carroll claimed, “I was not thrown on the ground and ravished which the word rape carries so many sexual connotations. This was not sexual," she said in the interview from Monday, April 24. “I think most people think of rape as being sexy,” leaving the host speechless with his mouth agape when Carroll added, "Think of the fantasies."

As the interview became intense, Cooper stumbled over his words and cut to the first commercial break. However, before ending the segment Carroll quipped to Cooper, "You're fascinating to talk to." Although in an interview with The Hill, the former president maintained his denial of the rape allegations, reiterating his stance for the third time. "I’ll say it with great respect: Number one, she’s not my type. Number two, it never happened. It never happened, OK?" said Trump.
During the same interview, the former president doubled down on his assertion that he had never met Carroll, despite a photograph that had surfaced showing the two in conversation at a 1987 event. Carrol clapped back at Trumo saying, "I love that. I am so glad I'm not his type. I'm so glad," reported Daily Mail. "This was 20 years ago. And I probably was at that moment in that five minutes the most attractive woman in Bergdorfs for that one bit of time."
Cooper then highlighted that this was not the first time the former president had declared one of his accusers was not his type, referring to Jessica Leeds. Carroll and Leeds are the two oldest of the 16 women to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct. "When you looked at that horrible woman last night, you said I don't think so. I don't think so. She would not be my first choice, that I can tell you," Trump said of Leeds. "Man. You don't know. That would not be my first choice," reported the source.
'Ewwwwwwww. Thirsty!!!'
Interent users had mixed reactions to Carroll's statement about rape. One user tweeted, "That segment was a catalyst for a never ending nightmare." Another said, "Ewwwwwwww. Thirsty!!!" A third claimed, "Again-She’s just saying that it wasn’t that he beat her up & threw her on the ground & raped her. It was not like that. She’s saying some ppl think rape is sexy. Like a cave man style thing. No matter what you think of her-being thrown against a wall & being penetrated IS RAPE!" A fourth questioned, "That's a woman?" "Cooper wasn't doing any such thing except in your head. She was referring how rape has been watered down and romanticized, Rs insist women should get over it and children should carry pregnancies. This isn't some new idea she thought of, it's a common tactic used to subdue women," read a tweet.
