Ever since Ariana Grande teased the arrival of some new music, fans have been speculating what the singer's upcoming project might have in store. One theory that quickly emerged online was a purported collaboration between Drake and Ariana Grande.

Fans, who dubbed the duo 'Drakiana', started floating rumors about the collaboration with one Twitter user predicting, "Drake x ariana very soon." Another fan of both the artists, expressing their excitement about the collab, tweeted, "If ariana releases a collab with drake i’m deleting twitter."

Now, in the latest development in the story, the Twitter account @PopCrave posted the following tweet, "Stan rumors of a Drake & Ariana Grande collaboration shut down by one of the rapper’s producers on Instagram. #Drakiana."

The account posted a screenshot from one of Drake's producer friends who wrote, "For the people that started going ham on my comments... I have no idea about his Drakiana collab.. LAMO I don't know which media outlet started this rumor but please do not read too deep into the internet and the false information it holds. Just clearing this up so you fans don't get disappointed and can leave my comments section alone. Sincerely Snaz." He later posted his comments on Instagram with the caption, "This s**t is unreal. Lmaoo."

In no time fans of both the artists were incredibly disappointed by the news of there being no Drake and Ariana collaboration. One fan, on learning the news and still theorizing, took to Twitter and wrote, "TOMMY FOLLOWED DRAKE. NIJA COMMENTED A CAR ON TOMMYS PIC. DRAKE WAS IN A CAR WITH A GIRL THAT LOOKED LIKE ARIANA. DRAKIANA IS COMING," while another, who realized the news was a hoax, tweeted, "so the collab between ariana and drake is fake? f**k I hate it there."

The news was then widely believed to be untrue with another fan posting, "The supposed collaboration between @ArianaGrande & @Drake has been confirmed to be false."

On the music front, Drake has released a number of collaborative singles this year such as 'Chicago Freestyle' featuring Giveon; 'Only You Freestyle' with Headie One; 'Laugh Now Cry Later' featuring Lil Durk; 'Life Is Good' with Future; 'Oprah's Bank Account' with Lil Yachty and DaBaby; 'Greece' with DJ Khaled; 'Popstar' with DJ Khaled; and 'Twist & Turn' with Popcaan and Partynextdoor.
