The Immortal Donna Mills: Actress who battled trolls and criticism to become single mom at 54 turns 82!
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: It is no secret that Donna Mills is famous for her role in 'Knots Landing', but to her family, she is even better known for her role as a mother. In order to focus on raising her daughter, Mills took an 18-year break from acting. The fact that she is an excellent mother has always been a source of pride for her, in addition to her youthful good looks. Today is Mills' 82nd birthday, and she still looks relatively young. She posted a video on Instagram last week showing a "behind the scenes" look at a photoshoot she did for a magazine spread.
Additionally, she explained how she did her makeup and hair. She was seen sitting on a bar stool in a knitted sweater, as she smiled and posed for the camera. A blonde, shoulder-length hairstyle adorned her shoulders. A number of fans commented on the video. There were tons of comments praising Mills' appearance and stating she looked the same as she did in 'Knots Landing'. One commenter wondered if anyone would age better than she did.

Journey of becoming a mother at 54
Mills has often talked about how she became a mother later in life and what it meant to her to finally welcome a child as a single mother. She said told AARP that "I was single, I was 54, and I wanted to be a mother very badly." As soon as she decided she wanted to become a mother, she adopted a child.
She admitted that deciding to adopt her daughter at 54 was not difficult by any means because she felt a calling to be a mother. Chloe's mother, Mills, found it easy to work and raise her daughter for the first few years. She always took her daughter with her while she was young, so she could continue to work.
In spite of the doubts people had about Mills' ability to have a child at her age, she described motherhood as a beautiful experience. She stated, "I truly believe she was meant to come to me; she was meant to be my child." Mills adopted her daughter when she was four days old, and she had been highly focused on her career before adopting her. However, she eventually realized that she had a successful career, but there was something missing.
When she announced her plans to adopt her daughter, family and friends had many questions. She told People, "By that time, I was 54, and people said, 'You're going to be so old to have a toddler running around.' I never felt that." According to Mills, having a kid later in life is better than having one young. She added that she and her daughter, who is now 28 years old, have a wonderful relationship and speak frequently.
