Trump's lawyer compares ex-prez to Tupac and Biggie after indictment, late rapper's sister calls it 'blasphemous'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Donald Trump's lawyer said the recent indictment by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will only raise Trump's image, similar to how criminal cases increased the fandom of rappers like The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac. On April 3, Trump's lawyer Alina Habba spoke about his detention as martyrdom in an interview with right-wing political pundit Benny Johnson.
Things aren't looking good for Trump right now. The former President is the subject to several inquiries, but accusations of deception have only recently resulted in a real conviction. He's scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, April 4, for a hearing on fraud-related allegations. The inquiry revolves around the alleged hush-money payments he made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels prior to his presidential campaign. However, he and his supporters believe that the Democrats are behind these accusations.

'Donald Trump is his own brand'
Trump's attorney, Habba, recently appeared on 'The Benny Show' and made one of the strangest analogies of his political tenure, TMZ reports. During the arraignment, Benny mentioned how some lawmakers and commentators have predicted Trump will become a character akin to Johnny Cash or Tupac Shakur. "Donald Trump is Tupac. Donald Trump is Biggie Smalls," Habba said. "But no, Donald Trump is his own brand. He is everything. This is just going to boost him. We have seen it in the polls. This is not a question. This is a fact."
Trump's lawyer made the link on the same day he traveled to New York for his indictment. She claims that his legal troubles will raise his survey numbers, similar to how Tupac's record sales increased after he served time in jail.
Rapper's sister calls it complete 'Blasphemy'
Trump's counsel making a comparison between the former president and Tupac Shakur did not sit well with the late rapper's sister, who called the analogy absurd and laughable. Tupac's sister, Set Shakur, tells TMZ, "My brother was measured by his integrity, his principles, and personal and collective responsibility," he said, calling Habba's recent remarks "blasphemous."
She notes that her sibling accepted responsibility during his 1994 sexual assault trial, but she isn't seeing much accountability from Trump. Set claims Tupac's popularity increased not because of his imprisonment, but because those who listened to his music "were able to measure him by his words and actions that aligned."
She goes on to laud her late brother, describing him as an honorable man who stuck up for those in need of protection, always thinking of others. Set thinks Trump's attorney is using Tupac's name as a ploy to appeal to the rapper's followers, and she hopes they don't bite.
