'Troth Central': Donald Trump mocked for forgetting his social media company's name

During a rally on Saturday, April 23, former American President Donald Trump forgot the name of his new social media platform Truth Social. The videos circulating on social media of Trump's speech in Ohio show him trying to recall the name of his social media platform but mistakenly calling it Truth Central.

"Because of this digital tyranny, we had to give the American people their voice back by building something called Troth- Truth Central. Truth Social," Trump says in the clip. During the rally, Trump also messed up the pronunciation of the word "dropbox" by saying "drok bok" instead. "No more drok bok. Drop boxes are just so bad, no more drop boxes," he said.

This was not the first time Trump messed up while saying drop boxes. Previously, at a rally in Michigan on April 2, he made the same mistake of calling drop boxes "drok bok" during his speech. "The elimination of Zuckerberg drok bok. I call them the... unlock boxes, you know. They call them lock boxes, I call them unlock boxes," he says in the clips.

As usual, Internet users commented on the incident and criticized the former president. One tweet read, "If that were President Biden it would be all that the right-wing media would talk about for the next two weeks." Another said, "Troth sential.. Like essential...only it's not!" A third laughed, "He actually slurred 'troth censhel' [x4 laughing emojis]."

One user quipped, "[x4 laughing emojis] He never had much luck with anything resembling truth." Another made a sarcastic comment, "He's in deep senility. Aw hell, let's make him our leader, what do ya say?" A third joked, "Soon it'll be truth bankrupt." A fourth added, "I'm surprised that TRUMP could utter the word 'TRUTH', without throwing up in his mouth."

While one user wrote, "Sometimes I wonder if the teleprompter typist is trolling him for giggles," another replied, "Stable genius, such amazing cognitive abilities." A third joked, "It wasn't Central that was wrong, it was the word TRUTH."

One user reacted, "Pretty sure he's referring to the drokbok, a close cousin of the springbok native to the Kalahari...or else he's having a stroke during a live televised broadcast, I would honestly probably go with the latter..." Another added, "The crowd cheers because they don't even know what Truth Social or truth 'cential'? Is. Half of the time they don't know what he is talking about but they love him because he hates all the people they hate and that is enough for them."

Truth Social is a social media platform created by Trump Media & Technology Group that launched on February 21, 2022. Its access is currently limited to iPhone users in the United States and Canada. "Engagement is low, the initial flood of downloads of the app have withered to a trickle and the first resignations of its top staff have begun," reports The Guardian. Downloads of the app dropped after its launch and the response has been poor.

As per The Daily Beast, Trump has been grumbling about the app behind the scenes. Sources told the portal, that he has been swearing gratuitously and asking things like, "What the fuck is going on" with Truth Social. He is reportedly grousing about the negative press and the less-than-stellar optics of the rollout.
