Many things in the world have changed since we last witnessed the all-time favorite 'Dollface', the foursome at the center of Jordan Weiss's Hulu female-centric sitcom on our screens. But then, it was all about a global pandemic, home quarantine, social unrest and rampant targetted hate crimes.

Before the pandemic, Season 1 of 'Dollface' revolved around Jules (Kat Dennings), who discovered the power and strength of female friendships while reconnecting with her female best friends after ignoring them during her five-year relationship. Unfortunately, 'Dollface' Season 2 makes the loss of sight of the core tenet and is the regardless of all this upheaval going in the world around them. The privileged lives of all these lady bosses don't appear to be affected too much apart from their desperate attempt to raise the flag of being feminist.

Dollface review: Superficial feminism is cringeworthy with clueless female leads who have no idea how to be, or why they are, friends

'Dollface' actor Beth Grant says Cat Lady the most positive character she's ever played; story about women restoring friendships

In Episode 1, all the ladies of the group, including Jules (Kat Dennings), Madison (Brenda Song), Stella (Shay Mitchell), and Izzy (Esther Povitsky), are approaching their 30's. Of course, witnessing themselves growing older is freaking them out. What is a show about 20's something if 30's isn't looming something like a death sentence? So the gang tends at a 30 under 30 event where Izzy's boyfriend Liam (Jayson Blair) is being feted. Of course, if it is a party, then you can't assume to see social distancing, all the happy faces without masks, no discussion of vaccination dose, that was even scared at some point.

Kat Dennings as Jules in 'Dollface'

Jules is seen still working at Woom, a women's health and wellness brand in the vein of The Wing or GOOP. Season 1 of the show had an apparent goal to bring out the strength and power hidden behind the female friendship, but in the Season 2 of the show, much more of it takes place at Woom, moving it into the workplace sitcom waters. The addition of cliched coworkers like Owen Thiele is making the worst of it as a Black queer Zoomer's entire existence is to live for drama, dole out sassy one-liners and occasionally offer advice to Jules and Izzy. On the other hand, Jules also seems to be juggling with Wes (Matthew Gray Gubler).
