AUSTIN, TEXAS: The former UFC fighter Mike "Platinum" Perry, who switched to bare-knuckle boxing, recently made an appearance on the JRE podcast's 'MMA Show'. Perry revealed his desire to act in films during his interview with Joe Rogan, aiming to pursue a career outside of combat sports.

This sparked an interesting conversation on which film franchise would best suit Perry's outsized attitude and physique with Joe Rogan suggesting the 'John Wick' series. Perry was enthusiastic about Rogan's proposal. 'John Wick' is an action-packed franchise that has released four films till now with more in the pipeline. The fourth film was released recently in March 2023.

The ‘bad guy’ in ‘John Wick'

Perry mentioned his ambition to become an actor during his appearance on the JRE 'MMA Show'. He made a comment to Rogan saying, “Let me be a bad guy in a movie or something.” Then Rogan suggested that Perry become a part of the 'John Wick' series. With excitement, Perry replied, “Let’s go! Keanu bro..” and performed mock karate chops with his hands.

Rogan went on to say that Perry would make a fantastic bad-guy assassin dressed in a dapper suit. “That actually would work, I could actually see that,” he emphasized. Joe Rogan is a major fan of the 'John Wick' films, as anyone who listens to the podcast would know. He has also been seen practicing with firearms at Taran Tactical, the facility where Keanu Reeves receives his training for the John Wick movie series. As a result, it is not surprising that he encouraged Perry to star as a villain in the franchise.

‘I never retired’

After defeating former UFC Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold recently at BKFC 41, Perry further cemented his place in the world of combat sports. Perry's interaction with Conor McGregor and his capacity for theatrical behavior captured the attention of fans all around the world.

The Irish MMA star furiously yelled, "I never retired," several times when he was invited into the ring with McGregor after their bout was over, making it apparent that he still had ambitions in the ring. Despite their initial disagreement, Perry and McGregor were able to patch things up by shaking hands and expressing their appreciation for one another. Perry is a fantastic fit for the big screen because of his ability to indulge in a bit of theatrics to draw in crowds and convince viewers to buy into his image as a brawler.
