Does Bryan Olesen still play for Newsboys? 'The Voice' fans slam John Legend for saving pro singer in Playoffs
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: Bryan Olesen made a victorious return to 'The Voice' this week, proving he hasn't lost a stride. However, when the season's oldest contender earned a seat in the Live Show, viewers expressed dissatisfaction, calling John Legend's decision unjust.
Maluma, the season's oldest contender, suggested that Bryan only utilize the guitar during his rendition of "Africa" if it enhanced his performance; otherwise, he should focus on engaging the crowd. Although Bryan was ultimately given the go-ahead to move on to the next round by Coach John, not everyone is excited about his upcoming "concert."

On X, users continued to express their frustration. One commented, "John choosing Bryan over mafe is the same as him choosing azan over Kaylee last season, hes fs not winning." Another user sighed, "Why does John keep pretending like Bryan wasnt in a grammy nominated christian rock band??"

Bryan Olesen dubbed '100% a rockstar' after 'The Voice' Season 25 Playoff round
Reba McEntire hailed him as "the perfect package," Shay Mooney told Bryan that he performs like a superstar, and Chance the Rapper termed him "100% a rockstar" for his ability to "control the crowd" and "create a moment." Who is Bryan Olesen on 'The Voice' Season 25?
Bryan juggled various odd jobs to support his musical dreams until he unexpectedly received an offer to become the guitarist for the rock band Newsboys during an international tour.
Following that experience, he turned his attention to his band, VOTA, using their music to advocate for issues such as fighting against human trafficking and fostering connections with victims of school shootings.
By releasing records in aid of a campaign run by an NGO, the band took action, raising over $180,000 to construct border ports in Nepal and save the lives of about 700 women.
Bryan faced the challenge of his divorce after 24 years of marriage, accepting it as a pivotal moment in his life. With newfound independence and resolve at nearly fifty, he sees it as an opportunity to make a difference.
'The Voice's Bryan Olesen has been part of Newsboys since 2004
After guitarist Jody Davis left Newsboys in February 2004, Bryan joined the group. He served as the lead guitarist and backup vocalist until January 2006. Following his departure, he chose to focus his efforts on his other band, VOTA.
In 1997, Bryan participated in the founding of the Christian rock group Casting Pearls.
'The Voice' Season 25 airs on NBC at 8 pm on Mondays and 9 pm on Tuesdays. The episodes will be available on Peacock on demand the next day. The streaming site also includes entire episodes from the show's prior seasons.
