'FUTURE IS YET TO BE DECIDED': Johnny Depp fans unhappy despite Disney's cryptic message to Jack Sparrow

Disney producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed in an interview that Johnny Depp will not return as Jack Sparrow amid the ongoing trial

The original Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp, of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean', will reportedly not be returning to the movie franchise anytime soon; definitely, not until his ongoing defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard is wrapped up, as expressed by the producer of Disney, Jerry Bruckheimer. 

Producer Bruckheimer seems to have echoed the actor's desire of not wanting to return as Captain Jack in the hit Disney film series. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Jerry was questioned about Depp's return and he replied, "Not at this point. The future is yet to be decided."

Fans are aware of the fact that a female-led 'Pirates' movie starring Margot Robbie and another rebooting the original series are already in the works. Shedding light on this, producer Jerry said, "We're developing two 'Pirates' scripts. One with her, one without."

In fact, during one of the actor's testimony during the defamation lawsuit against Heard, Depp agreed that even if Disney offers him "all the money on this Earth" he would not reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. Heard's lawyer Ben Rottenborn said, "The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film? Correct?" and Johnny agreed. He went on to explain, "there was a deep and distinct sense of feeling betrayed by the people that [he has] worked hard for." Depp, 58 said, "People that I delivered a character to that they initially despised, but I stuck to my guns with the character and it seemed to work."

Heard is being sued by her ex-husband Depp for $50 million claiming that an op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post in 2018 painted him as a domestic abuser. While Depp wasn't mentioned in the write-up, his lawyers argued that the essay clearly pointed to the abuse allegations Heard made when she filed for divorce in 2016. The 'Aquaman' actress in turn filed a counterclaim of $100 million accusing Depp of running a "smear campaign" to ruin her career. 

The defamation trial is one of the most viewed live stream broadcasts. The twists and turns in the case and the ugly secrets of the former couple's marriage unveiled to the general public have been the most talked about topics on the internet. The trial first started on Monday, April 11, in Fairfax, Virginia, and reconvened on Monday, May 16, after a break of a week. 

Meanwhile, Twitter users have been sharing their thoughts on the news of Depp not returning as Jack Sparrow. One fan said, "The series over then," while another added, "Just cancel pirates of the Caribbean"

Another one opined, "soft as s**t. let the OG be who he’s meant to be". One fan simply said, "I will not watch a single POTC movie that doesn’t have Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Simple as that."

A user said, "Jerry Bruckheimer said its unlikely at this point that Johnny Depp would return to a potential sixth Pirates of the Caribbean to play Captain Jack Sparrow again. Why the hell would he return?! Good luck continuing with a 6th film, Depp was the heart and soul of the franchise."
