TOKYO, JAPAN: PewDiePie, an influential YouTube streamer, gained fame before becoming a popular star. His fan base extends beyond gaming, and his reaction videos were popular. The YouTuber once revealed his "robbery" plans during his livestream making a dark confession about his early gaming career.

Recently, he devoted most of his time to his family after he and his wife Marzia welcomed their first baby, named Björn, on Instagram. PewDiePie has almost 21 million Instagram followers, whereas Marzia has over 8.6 million on the same network.

'You may think I crippled'

The early years of gaming evolution relied on a select group of titles. The 1997 CipSoft game "Tibia" was one such example. Fans of PewDiePie may recall the streamer's frequent reference to Tibia. The gloomy confession can be traced back to the game's early days. For the purpose of some gaming assets, the latter has prepared a full-fledged robbery with his friends. And it's not casual adolescent fun, but rather larceny, as described by the streamer himself.

The 'Former YouTube King' confessed the worst thing he's ever done to someone in a truthful confession. The YouTuber revealed that the incident took place when Tibia was the most popular game in Sweden. Being Swedish-born, the content creator was well-versed in the Tibia mania that swept the country back in the day. On eBay, people used to sell and buy Tibia assets for real money. Surprisingly, it was a significant trade contributor to eSports.

PewDiePie confessed the unusual crime, saying, "The worst thing I've ever done to someone, Tibia was so popular in Sweden, where I grew up. People would write on the Swedish eBay to buy specific items for real money. I found someone interested in buying an item that I had. So I would tell him to meet up at a net cafe. The thing was that we had installed a keylogger on the computer which basically meant we could get his password and login. I logged in and sent my item back. So, basically, this is like theft pretty much. I assume this is like robbery. My friends were with me."

He further stated, “We took all his items. You may think I crippled this guy enough. If you’re watching, the guy that we did this to I am sorry. I don’t know what was wrong with me. But we thought it would be fun to kill his character. An ungodly amount of time till he got to level 8.”

'Pay him back'

The streamer's video went viral on YouTube and fans started commenting their opinions. A fan suggested that PewDiePie should reimburse the individual, "Pewdiepie is my favorite YouTuber but that’s actually really messed up, he needs to find that guy and pay him back." Another one replied, "I was expecting PewDiePie to say, "If you are watching this, contact me and I will compensate you for my mistakes." or something along the line... but disappointing that he just laughs it off :\... It's super cruel to watch the character you built got screwed through a scam. Dude was probably super happy to finally get the item he wanted." One fan mocked saying, "Bro created a villain." Another one said, "I know a situation like this one time when you're a teenager doesn't define who you are, but I think it really does say something about you as a person deep down."
