Ever imagine what would be the outcome of an encounter between a ghost and a religious stoner? Well, if you find it hard to fathom the rare combo, worry no more. 1091 Media is bringing just the right piece of mystery cum comedy with its latest feature film ‘Dead’, which is set to premiere soon. Release date of the movie to its cast, here’s everything you need to know about ‘Dead’ before it's available for streaming.

Plot

The official synopsis for ‘Dead’ reads: "Marbles, a hapless stoner, can see ghosts. Tagg, a recently dead wannabe super-cop, needs to find a serial killer. Can a critical ghost cop and a directionless stoner get over their prejudices and work together to save lives — and deaths?"

Cast 

Hayden J Weal 

Hayden J Weal is an actor and writer, who plays the role of Tagg in ‘Dead’. Weal has also written, directed and produced the movie besides playing the lead. He is known for his indie hit film ‘Chronesthesia’ from 2016, which debuted at the New Zealand International Film Festival. 

Thomas Sainsbury 

New Zealand actor Thomas Sainsbury is seen as the pot-smoking friend of Tagg’s, Marbles in ‘Dead’. He is one of New Zealand’s most popular playwrights. He has written and directed more than 40 plays such as ‘Sunday Roast’, ‘LUV’, ‘The Mall’, ‘Loser’, ‘The Christmas Monologues’, ‘The Somnambulist’ and ‘Crims’ among others. 

Other actors featured in ‘Dead’ include Emily Campbell, Michael Hurst, Tomai Ihaia and Mayen Mehta.  

Creators

While the lead actor Weal has also served as the director, producer and writer of the film, it is also produced by Rob Malloch, Nicole van Heerden with Daniel Story as the executive producer.

Trailer 

The official trailer for ‘Dead’ follows stoner Marble and his dead cop friend Tagg’s misadventures as they cross paths with ghouls and walking zombies. The video also shows the duo’s unexpected shot at love and confrontation with deepest regrets as they overcome prejudices.
