Dara Huang: Mom of Princess Beatrice's stepson says she ‘can sleep at night’ as son goes to school in UK not US
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: The American mother of Princess Beatrice's stepson has expressed her relief toward her son being sent to school in the UK rather than the US. Dara Huang, 39, believes that with the six-year-old being educated in Britain, he can avoid becoming a victim of a tragic school shooting.
Huang was engaged to interior designer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 39, who is now married to King Charles' niece Princess Beatrice, 34. The renowned architect took to her social media to confirm that she is "glad" that her son Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, or 'Wolfie' as he is known, is being educated in Britain rather than her native America. "I'm glad my son doesn't go to school in the USA," Huang wrote online, adding, "I can sleep at night knowing he won't die at his desk tomorrow morning."

Taking note of the exceeding levels of gun violence in the US with more than 600 mass shootings and at least 1500 killed in gun-related incidents recorded in 2022 alone, the architect's fears are understandable.
According to Mirror, Huang posted her opinion after returning back to the US while her son was at the King's Norfolk retreat with his stepmother and father. "Not to get all political here, but I went to a sports store in the US to buy tennis shoes today and couldn't help but notice this huge gun section – post-Xmas sale," Dara said, adding, "'So I walked up to the man and said, 'No, you can buy one right now and either take it in two days or take a $50 two-hour ‘conceal and carry course' and bring it home right now.'"
She continued, "So I walked up to the man and said, 'What do I need to buy a gun home? Do I need a license?' And he said, 'No, you can buy one right now and either take it in two days or take a $50 two-hour 'conceal and carry course' and bring it home right now'. And I said, 'OK, so no license needed, medical records, history of felony?' And he said, 'Nope. You can keep it in your car or home, as you see fit.'" Huang concluded, "Literally anybody can buy the most dangerous weapon known to man."
Huang is a highly successful architect, born and brought up in Florida, US after her maternal grandfather emigrated from Taiwan. She was granted her British citizenship earlier this year and was recently featured in Channel 4's property show 'Britain's Most Expensive Houses'.
