Dannielyn was just five-months-old when Anna Nicole, who garnered early fame as a model for Guess and Playboy magazines, died of a prescription drug overdose at the age of 39 on February 8, 2007.
Undoubtedly, the "Skyscraper" star led a life that was the centre of attention during her heyday, but her daughter chose to leave her fame behind and start a quiet life in Kentucky. Her father, Larry Birkhead, who is also Anna Nicole's ex, revealed to TMZ in May 2021 that his 16-year-old daughter had declined a number of modelling and acting opportunities over the years. The 50-year-old American celebrity photographer, who began dating Smith in 2004, also added that acting really isn't Dannielynn's 'thing' and acknowledged she doesn't have a modelling portfolio as she prefers to stay away from the limelight.

At the time of Dannielynn's birth, Smith claimed that her father was Howard K. Stern, the Playboy model's attorney, and romantic partner. But Birkhead challenged Smith’s assertion and sought legal help to prove that he was Dannielynn's biological father. Eventually, he was awarded his daughter’s custody, and he brought her to live with him in Kentucky, according to Daily Mail.
Why was Dannielynn removed from J Howard Marshall’s fortune?
Anne Nichole’s controversial marriage to 89-year-old oil tycoon, J Howard Marshall entitled her to receive a share of his fortune, with some of that passing to Dannielynn. But in 2014, her name was removed from Marshall's fortune as a result of a court case that ruled that Anna Nicole's estate was not due to inherit anything from her late husband.
In 2017, Birkhead told Inside Edition 'We saw a video on YouTube that she was one of the 10 richest kids in America. Then she wanted to go to the mall. And I’m like, "No, it’s not that. Trust me, it’s not that". During the program, the photographer also refuted accusations that he and Anna Nicole's mother, Virgie Arthur, had a falling out. "I’ve never talked about that before, but I get hurt by that headline. Anna’s mom has seen Dannielynn, she’s seen her a few times. I say that only because I want the story to stop," He said. "If Anna’s mom wants to see Dannielynn, she knows how to get a hold of me and she can call me anytime."

Dannielynn, despite having a famous mother, leads a sedentary lifestyle in Louisville, Kentucky, where she apparently loves singing and dancing. Birkhead said Dannielynn is more focused on doing her homework than on achieving popularity since she enjoys sketching, animation, and fine art. He also maintains that their daughter simply wants to be her own person and, despite occasionally wearing thin, still views comparisons to her mother as praise.
He also said that he is unsure if the offers they have gotten are because of the girl's uncanny likeness to her mother or because she is genuinely the offspring of the classic blonde bombshell, repored TMZ. Birkhead further claimed that Dannielyn had acting potential in the past but eventually made the decision not to pursue it. The possibility of acting isn't entirely gone, as Birkhead claimed that Dannielynn would surely accept a part on The Mandalorian or Stranger Things.
