‘I was an absolute d**k’: Daniel Radcliffe recalls his behavior during ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ kissing scene
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: You have been naughty, Harry! In HBO special ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’, 'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe revealed he was being an “absolute d**k” while Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were filming for their characters’ kissing scene for ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’.
Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who played Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley respectively, have repeatedly said they felt like siblings, thus, kissing each other was “awkward”. However, Radcliffe didn’t make the filming easier as he revealed in the reunion show, “I did not make this [awkward situation] better, because I've been told significantly that I was just being an absolute d***,” before adding, “And was like, 'I'm gonna come on set and watch you guys kiss. I'm sorry about that, guys.'”

Emma Watson added, “Obviously us kissing was the most horrifying thing either of us have ever had to go through ... [It] felt wrong ... Everyone wanted to be on set for it. Cause everyone was like, 'This is gonna be good, guys.'”
'I just found that too funny'
Radcliffe’s involvement in the franchise’s kissing scenes can be labeled as adorably diabolical at best. While talking about the Horcrux manifestation kiss of ‘Deathly Hallows: Part 1’, Radcliffe revealed to ITV’s Daybreak Morning Show in 2010 that the kiss with Emma Watson was “vigorous”. Radcliffe said, “I always thought it was going to be this soft sensual sort of moment, and suddenly there was this vigorous kissing happening to me,” before adding, “She is a bit of an animal. But then, I’m not complaining. There are tens of thousands of men that would cut off limbs to be in that position,” reported People.
However, Watson revealed opened up about the kiss in an interview with JoBlo and said, “I guess I was just so worried about it coming across as awkward as I felt it was inside that I just wanted to make it as real as I could? So I guess I just went for it?” Talking about the dreamy sequence where they required to be divested of their upper garment and covered in silver paint, she said, “Oh, it was the weirdest thing ever, and they only told us about the silver body paint the day before. They were like, ‘Oh, and P.S., we hope you don’t mind but we’d like you both to be topless and covered in silver paint.’ I was like, ‘Ookay,’ if it wasn’t weird enough before. So yeah, it was bizarre. Luckily, Dan is very funny and talkative and we could just have a laugh about it.”
However, Radcliffe alone can be blamed for laughing at Watson-Grint kissing scene from ‘Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ as Grint is a party to the same mischief. Talking about the same kiss, Grint said, “When they were there actually filming that kiss, they did actually want me there to kind of play off something, but I just found that too funny,” before adding, “Emma sent me out because I kept laughing. It just looked really strange,” reports The Seattle Times.
Kiss in ‘The Half-Blood Prince'
However, ‘Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ was not the only film where Watson and Grint kissed for the first time. In the sixth film of the series, the duo shared a kiss too. Talking of which Grint said to MTV, "I did the kiss with Emma a couple weeks ago, and it was quite strange," before adding, "I've known Emma since she was 9 years old, and it felt a little bit wrong being that way with her. But it was over quite quickly." Terming the kiss was “really awkward”, Watson said about Grint, "He's a gentleman, and he was a great kisser.”
