Is Dana White 'racist'? UFC chief slammed for supporting Gina Carano after she was fired from 'The Mandalorian'
Gina Carano's firing from Disney may have been dubbed as the "serves-her-right move" by the Internet, but the former MMA fighter has UFC President Dana White supporting her. Voicing his thoughts on the matter during Saturday, February 13, night's UFC 258, White said, "Leave her alone. We make mistakes, we all make mistakes,” White said. “For everybody to go in on her… I love how Ariel Helwani made it all about him, such a douche."
The dig against Helwani, one of the UFC's top reporters, comes after his video where he shared his two cents on the Carano controversy. "Obviously I am very disappointed in what she posted. To be honest, I haven’t agreed with a lot of the things she has posted over the past year,” Helwani said via New York Post.

"As a Jewish person, and as a human being, it just doesn’t sit well," he says in the video, shared on his Instagram. "And I wish she would have never posted that. And quite frankly I wish someone would have talked to her about her social media posts over the past year. Some of them not even political. Just in general, they felt off to me. I am sorry she has gone down this path."Soon after the remark against Helwani, ESPN issued a statement saying: "Ariel is a valued colleague and an exceptional MMA reporter. His record speaks for itself." Twitter had its own opinions on White's remark. "@danawhite u mansplained @ginacarano. She knows her own mind and is incredibly intelligent. She has every right to speak freely. That should have been ur defense. UFC president Dana White comments on Gina Carano's firing from 'The Mandalorian'," read one of the tweets.
"Funny how when its a white male or female You always get this type of response essentially cut them some slack. But if you are a minority oh Hell no string them up. Dana white is a hypocrite and a douche," wrote another. "@danawhite typical racist defending another racist #GinaCarano," one of the comments read.
"@danawhite Dana, I’m against bullying by Leftists to force conformity & control. Muting, censoring & destroying livelihoods of those sharing independent perspectives must never be condoned. Gina Carano did not 'make a mistake'. I applause her for speaking out & being provocative," a tweet said.
The slamming continued. "I'd like to say I'm surprised that @danawhite is supporting a bigoted twit like Gina Carano, what with him being a Mainer and all, but I'm not. Dude is stupid enough to support trump, of course he's gonna support other hateful bigots. Disgraceful."

Carano was recently fired from 'The Mandalorian' after a string of bizarre social media posts, including one where she compared today’s political climate to the Nazi times. "Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors… even by children,” she wrote on Instagram with an image of Nazi Germany.
"Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews," she added.
