'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 7 Episode 12 Preview: Lagina's team finds solid proof of French activity
Rick and Marty Lagina thought that they were close to finding the fabled money pit in Oak Island, but nature had other plans. Hurricane Dorian literally rained on their parade, taking their progress a week ago. The 11th episode was correctly titled, 'The Eye Of The Storm'. Throughout the episode, while the team was practically racing against time to make important discoveries on the isolated island, Marty couldn't help but allay fears that the island was actually cursed. Was nature preventing them from getting to the treasure?
The swamp, which the team has worked so hard to drain, is filled with water and the team is visibly frustrated. However, Rick defiantly said as he has been hunting the treasure for years, he's certainly not going to give up and continue with his efforts.
The 12th episode is titled 'Fortified', which will see the crew begin their investigations at the swamp again. Moreover, the team might actually find solid evidence that the swamp is man-made. The synopsis reads as, "New evidence suggests there was French activity on Oak Island decades before the discovery of the Money Pit and the team may have finally uncovered definitive proof the swamp was man-made centuries ago." This French activity has been referenced quite often throughout the season, and the team has brought in historians to substantiate their claims.
For years, many people have searched Oak Island thoroughly, in the hope that they will discover wooden chests filled with gold. The tale behind this intense search began centuries before the show, ‘The Curse Of Oak Island’. In 1795, young men discovered a depression in the ground beneath an old oak tree on Oak island, leading them to the conclusion that there’s treasure buried there. The hunt continued in the late 1800s, with little success but more ferocity. However, the 'curse' began, where five humans perished in the hunt for the buried treasure. According to the legend, in order to solve the Oak Island mystery, seven had to die.
And so, the Lagina brothers decided to look for treasure on the island. While they haven't found it, they've got some other unusual artifacts.
'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel on Tuesdays at 9 pm.
