To say that the two-hour season premiere of 'Criminal Minds' was an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement and fans of this hugely popular, longtime crime drama seem to agree. The two episodes, 'Under the Skin' and 'The Awakening' touched upon several subplots, along with the highly anticipated JJ and Reid (Jeid) angle, The Chameleon investigation and Everett Lynch, the crazed serial killer as well as Reid's complicated feelings with his mother's failing health.

"#CriminalMinds had my mom and I sitting on the floor with our hands in our hair. probably the most stressful two hours of my life," said a fan, probably describing the feelings of the entire fandom. It was an intense two hours and after 14 seasons of airing a procedural, it's impressive that a show is still able to captivate its audience. "'Easy peasy lemon squeezy'??? Try 'Stressy depressy lemon zesty?'" tweeted a fan quoting Everett's go-to quote for the day as he and his daughter Grace are shooting the US Marshalls to escape.

But not many liked the idea of the Chameleon's MO, where he cut up the skin from his victim's chest after he killed them. This subject would lure gay men from dating sites and just go to town on their dead bodies - something quite similar to what Lynch did with his female victims. He was aroused by cutting their faces off - literally- after he killed them.

"It's not a #CriminalMinds episode until someone is making a suit out of skin," said a disgruntled fan. "Exactly. No idea why someone didn't veto that terrible idea in the writer's room," another added. Rossi ends up catching the bad guy, who turns out to be Dr. Hurst, who was Roberta's ex, who is Everett’s mother. She had conned him and stolen his money but clearly, he had plans of his own.

In all the crazed confusion and pace, Penelope Garcia was a ray of sunshine for a bit and fans appreciated that. "Penelope Garcia: blue hair, don't care!" wrote a fan noting her brand new hair for the season. " Another said, "The Baby Yoda of #CriminalMinds Kirsten Vangsness has been in the most episodes of criminal minds Penelope Garcia, the glue, that holds the team together."

Criminal Minds airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
