MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: 'Friends' star Courteney Cox wishes to take her relationship with her longtime musician boyfriend to the next level. According to sources, Cox reportedly suggested her boyfriend Johnny McDaid, whom she has been dating on and off for nine years, to let her move in with him in his London home, however, Johnny "seems reluctant". The 49-year-old actress, who played Monica Geller in the popular sitcom 'Friends', fueled romance rumors with the guitarist in 2013 and they have been dating ever since.

"Courteney is feeling Johnny's absence in a very hard way," the insider revealed. "And while it would certainly hurt to abandon her friends and contacts in LA, she thinks that a long-distance relationship isn't enough anymore." On the other hand, the insider stated that McDaid "still seems reluctant" to live under the same roof, according to RadarOnline.

"He's been giving her one excuse after another and hoped push would never come to shove," said the source, claiming that she's reached a breaking point. "But Courteney's putting her foot down. It's only a matter of time before they shack up or he ships out!" the source added.

The 'Scream' star and Snow Patrol guitarist first met through their common friend Ed Sheeran. They started dating in September 2013 and had a whirlwind relationship that culminated in their engagement in June 2014. The couple broke off their engagement, though, in late 2015. In 2016, despite a hiccup in their relationship, the celebrities appeared to be very happy together and constantly gushed about one another in interviews and on social media.

“I know that I’ve never loved like I love this woman,” McDaid told Us Weekly in May 2016. "He's a great advice-giver. I love his heart, his intentions. His morals," Cox recently told People. "He's just so smart, and I find that really sexy. And then he is gorgeous," she added.

The couple carried on their long-distance relationship while she was holed up in the US and he was in Europe during the COVID-19 lockdown. Due to travel restrictions and health issues, they had to spend several months apart before they could finally meet up in person in late 2020.

Although the actress has been outspoken about how much she misses McDaid when they are away, this does not imply that they are being intimate over video chat. She told Howard Stern in June 2021 that there is "no zoom intimacy."

Cox recently took to Instagram and shared a series of images with McDaid, wishing him a happy birthday. The actress captioned the post, "Happy birthday to my multitalented Johnny! He may be getting older (kinda) but watching him play never does. I love you J."
