What did Courteney Cox say?
"I'm not saying there were mushrooms!" the 58-year-old said in an interview published Monday, February 27 by Variety. ”I definitely wasn’t passing them out.” The 'Friends' alumn said that she recently ran with Harry at a friend's birthday celebration but didn't say "hi," saying only that “he’s a really nice person."
The former star of 'Cougar Town' also acknowledged that she hasn't read Harry's contentious autobiography, 'Spare' but she isn't against it. “I haven’t read the book." What did Prince Harry write in 'Spare'?
Prince Harry, referring to Cox's role in the sitcom, 'Friends', said "the idea of crashing at Monica’s house was highly appealing.” But much to Harry's surprise, Cox turned up and threw a party, inviting a number of people around.
"I was still confused because... she was Monica. And I was a Chandler," Harry wrote, making reference to Monica's husband in the show, played by Matthew Perry. Adding, "I wondered if I'd ever work up the courage to tell her," Harry wrote of his crush on the actress. He continued, "Was there enough tequila in California to get me that brave?”
He and his friend were allegedly led to Cox's refrigerator during the party by an unidentified actor, where they found a box of "black diamond mushroom chocolates." Before writing about his hallucinations, which included seeing a dumpster turn into a head, Harry wrote, “My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila." He continued, "I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth. A huge open grin. I laughed."
Of course, Harry ultimately moved on from Cox and began to swoon over Meghan Markle instead. He and the 41-year-old 'Suits' star wed in May 2018 and have two children together - Archie and Lilibet. In the meantime, Cox and Johnny McDaid have been dating since 2013. From 1999 to 2013, she was formerly wed to David Arquette, with whom she has a daughter named Coco, now 18 years old.
