'Another child star dies': Corey Feldman retracts controversial tweet about Lorenzo Brino's death after backlash
Actor Corey Feldman has retracted his controversial tweet where he implied that '7th Heaven' actor Lorenzo Brino's death was linked to his work with an actor who had admitted to abusing underage girls.
In his latest tweet, Feldman apologized to Brino's family and said that he was "misinformed."
Feldman had thought that Brino had taken his own life even though he had died in a car accident. Feldman tweeted in all caps, "Hello I wanted [to] apologize [to] the family of the deceased actor [Lorenzo Brino] as I was misinformed & spoke out of place."
"I had been told his death was a suicide when in fact it was an accident & that's a big difference! My deepest regrets & sympathy [to] Lorenzo's family," Feldman added. His earlier and since-deleted tweet read, "Here we go again, another child star dies, after working with a convicted pedophile on [7th Heaven] & [people] wonder [why] [child stars] self destruct!"
Feldman had also added a link to the Hollywood Reporter's obituary which stated that Brino had died in a car accident earlier that week. Feldman's tweet had implied that Brino had committed suicide and that his death was associated with his work with '7th Heaven' co-star Stephen Collins.
Back in 2014, Collins had admitted to sexually abusing three underage girls between 973 and 1994. Although Collins later denied being a pedophile, the scandal resulted in him being fired from 'Scandal' and 'Ted 2'.
Social media users were quick to slam Feldman for his initial tweet and accused him of trying to make a profit off Brino's death as he had also included a link to his latest documentary. The documentary 'My Truth' was released earlier this month and included allegations that he and the late Corey Haim were sexually abused by Hollywood heavyweights.
We had previously reported that Feldman had previously vowed to expose pedophilia in the industry and had also detailed the abuse he allegedly suffered as a child in the entertainment industry. The actor has claimed that after he came forth with his allegations, there were many attempts on his life.
Brino, 21, had passed away in a car crash after reportedly losing control of his Toyota Camry and crashing into a pole.
