Comic-Con 2020: Will Daryl Dixon be killed in 'The Walking Dead' Season 11?

Daryl Dixon's death would be one of the biggest blows that the survivors could take, meaning his death would be more compelling for the story

It doesn't matter just what the survivors build as a community together or how far they've come from their first days in the apocalypse trying to make it on their own - the only questions that's on everyone's minds on 'The Walking Dead' is who is going to die next? With Season 11 on its way, it just might be time for audiences to say goodbye to Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon might be next.

As one of the few popular characters on the series with no comic-book counterpart, Daryl's always been in just a little extra danger for a show that still loosely follows the plot of the series. Major storylines have been altered merely by Daryl's presence. There is no doubt that he is one of the most popular and recognizable characters on the show - especially with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) having left the show - but there's no better way to shake things up thanks to seeing Daryl meet his untimely end.

With their community destroyed and an army of vengeful Whisperers and their horde chasing the survivors down, it's not going to be easy to raise the stakes. Daryl's death would certainly do so and not just because he's one of the group's most tenacious survivors and protectors. Since the disappearance and presumed death of Grimes, Daryl has had to step up to more of a leadership position and much of his arc through Season 10 has been about that. He has worked and struggled to hold the survivors together in the midst of extreme crisis and the survivors have been stronger for his leadership.

His death would be a huge blow to the community - perhaps more than any other character death on the show. While there are others who could step up to take his place as leader, there is no one among the survivors who could replace Daryl himself. If killed, Daryl's loss would be strongly felt no matter how many more seasons 'The Walking Dead' gets. With few details as to what's coming in Season 11 until their Comic-Con panel, however, this is all of course just speculation. There's only one thing that's for sure on 'The Walking Dead': No one is safe.

Comic-Con@Home's 'The Walking Dead' panel will be at 1 pm - 2 pm on July 24 - you can check out the details here.
