The former ‘Scandal’ star Columbus Short got himself in legal trouble after he was arrested on domestic violence charges again. According to TMZ, cops were called to a home in the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday, February 2 around 10:30 pm. The actor was reportedly arrested after a heated argument between him and his wife Aida Abramyan turned into a physical one.
The publication further reported that after the cops arrived Columbus Short claimed that his wife punched him in the face but apparently, he had no such injuries as evidence. Cops reportedly then spoke to his wife revealing that she did sustain a minor injury. Speaking of getting in trouble over domestic violence, rapper Slim Jxmmi was arrested after he reportedly attacked his girlfriend in Miami. Famous Dex is another rapper who got in a soup after being hit with 19 charges for domestic violence and gun possession back in March 2021. Former 'Love & Hip Hop' star Prince was arrested in Miami in August 2021 after multiple charges including domestic violence with battery and kidnapping. NBA star Jaxson Hayes was charged with domestic violence, battery against a police officer in connection with a 2021 incident.

Who is Columbus Short's wife?
Columbus Short is currently married to Aida Abramyan-Short. The two had announced their engagement in 2016 and they walked down the aisle in December same year. Columbus and Aida share two sons together. Aida is an Entertainment Publicist and runs an agency called Luxe Creative Agency. Aida stays active on Instagram but has only a few thousand as followers. She earlier worked as a Senior Account Executive, as revealed by her official LinkedIn profile.
According to the website, AceShowbiz, Aida reportedly took to her Instagram account to speak on Columbus’ arrest. On Sunday, February 6, she stated that they both were working on their marriage as it was not an easy task to pull off. “Marriage isn't easy…but we're working on things in our own way and time. We'd like privacy and prayers.” She had also shared a clip of Columbus where he apparently spoke about his arrest. In the apparent video, as reported by AceShowbiz, the actor said, “Let me tell you what's really happened. I asked my wife to leave the home due to my frustration and I grabbed her phone, which I shouldn't have done." He added, "And I scratched her hand." He further shared the cops came there and “it was a whole ridiculous thing and they had to make a decision," before noting, "They didn't want to take me. They didn't want to take her, but they had to make a decision based on that scratch."
He continued, “I went to jail. So, I'm sorry for anybody that I let down. I'm grinding, I'm working hard. But my apologies." The clip came with a note that said, “The Truth - Marriages are challenging but getting through it is the blessing! I AM not a [sic] abusive man nor am I on drugs but drinking alcohol makes my mouth get a little out of pocket. That's the truth. My wife and I are working on our marriage."
Columbus Short’s run-ins with the laws
This is not the first time when Columbus Short got into legal trouble, He was arrested for felony battery in 2014 after punching a man during a bar fight. Columbus was charged with a felony battery following a restaurant fight where he would have faced four years in prison had he been convicted. The actor had allegedly tried fighting the security at a local bar called Katy Ice House. Apparently, he had a problem with the bar assigning off-duty police officers. He again got arrested in 2018 on domestic violence charges. He was sentenced to one year for allegedly hitting Aida Abramyan-Short.
