‘Clean up your act’

On Saturday, June 3, 2023, Roker recorded a video of a dirty street and posted it on his Instagram account. Roker, 68, stood in front of Saba’s Pizza and filmed the whole neighborhood. The video had Al’s voice in the background, in which he could be heard saying, "These are not great neighbors because we always have a mess on the street every morning."

The weather presenter zoomed in on the food, trash, and other items laying next to a booth on the street. He added, “Debris, litter. Come on! Clean up your act!” He captioned the post, “Be good NYC neighbors. A lot of times, it’s even worse. Please keep your outdoor space clean!!! @sabaspizza @grillpointny.”

While his wife Deborah Roberts commented on his post and wrote, “It’s terribly unsightly and dirty!!” Al’s followers also showed their concern over the dirty streets. While one commented, "That is so sad and unnecessary...,” another said, “Last time we were in the city we were appalled at its appearance. So sad!” One more fan commented, “Call them out, Uncle Al!”, and yet another added, “Gross looking!”

Al Roker mocks co-host Craig Melvin

Al’s on-air hilarious expressions and the mocking of his co-hosts don’t escape the viewers' eyes. Earlier this week, Roker invited co-host Craig Melvin to join him for a special weather forecast only to mock him. But Melvin made sure to clap back at Roker during an insult-filled segment.

Roker asked Melvin to take his place and gave him country-wide forecasts. He stood next to the weather map screen and told Melvin, “So, here ya go!” Although the forecast information was already up on the electronic board, Melvin’s response as a temporary weatherman was to tap the board. Al quickly exclaimed, “No, you don’t have to hit it again! This is it.”

Melvin responded before beginning the forecast, “Oh, sorry.” Though he had this small mishap, he successfully gave out the weather news for the country without any other issues. However, this didn’t stop Roker from teasing his co-host as he made a comment in the end, “Wow. And see? That's why I brought Craig in here to just show it’s not that easy,” causing the audience and cameramen to erupt in laughter.

Melvin smiled before adding, “I was actually thinking the exact opposite!” Al gave a tense smile while Melvin laughed and concluded with a pat on Al’s back.
