In the penultimate episode of 'Christina on the Coast,' host and designer Christina Anstead was working on the home renovation of one of her clients Sabrina and her firefighter-husband, Miguel. She was really excited about this project as Sabrina and she had known each other since the latter crafted all the goodies for Christina's baby shower.

The couple's house was in great shape, however, their problem was the kitchen. It was completely different from the rest of the house, in terms of design and styling. They described it as the 1970s-inspired space and when Christina walked in there, she found it hard to believe that it was a part of the same house. The task of upgrading the area in a stipulated budget lied ahead of her and even though she hit a lot of roadblocks, the end result was nothing short of beautiful and a very excited Sabrina was miserably failing at holding back her happy tears.

Even though the couple needed major renovations in the kitchen, they also decided to use Christina's help to redo their family room. The latter bases her renovations around her clients' needs and choices and this time she was working towards achieving a boho+industrial style, the budget for which was $70K and some extra thousand dollars set aside for contingencies. The couple's complaint with their kitchen space was that it had a lot of dead space and wasn't functional enough for them considering they were huge entertainers. They loved having their extended family over, however, the kitchen was separated from the family room by a wall. Christina changed that by bringing down the separating wall. She also upgraded the appliances, managed to elevate the low drop ceiling, added new and highly stylized faucets, repainted the walls, added floating cabinets and better lights to brighten up the space that was really dark before.

Christina also worked her magic in the family room with a couple of small but necessary changes, also incorporating furniture from her own collection to take things up a notch. Her team also laid new floors around the house, something that was not initially a part of the renovations but Sabrina really insisted on it.

During this whole renovation, the couple decided to stay at the house itself, in order to save money so they were updated with all the work that was been carried on. However, to still make it special for them, Christina asked them to promise that they'd not peek while she renders some final touches and some additional styling. The space was completely ready and Sabrina's tears were enough to declare how much she loved the transformation and Miguel signed Christina up once again for another project in the house that involves redecorating their master bath.

'Christina on the Coast' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm on HGTV.
