Tyson has been providing regular updates to their followers ever since beginning hormone replacement treatment (HRT), which the Cleveland Clinic describes as a procedure that aids people who identify as gender non-conforming in achieving a more typically masculine or feminine look.
Chris, you look so cute and happy. I'm so extremely thrilled for you and glad you get to do this. Congrats babe.

Chris Tyson opens up about HRT therapy
Tyson spoke about the procedure in an April tweet after reports of their makeover hit the press, stating, “Informed consent HRT saved my and many others' lives. The hurdles [gender nonconforming] people have to jump through to get life-saving gender-affirming healthcare in a 1st world country is wild to me. Just let people make informed decisions about their own bodies.”
Tyson mentioned in the same month that they were feeling good about the procedure and that their hairline and face shape had already started to change. They said, "The amount of body positivity I've gotten in just 2 months is insane."
After declaring themselves to be bisexual on social media in 2010, Tyson has also been outspoken about their sexuality. When they were 16, they stated they tried to come out but "got a lot of negative backlash from friends/family."
