What did Chris Rock say?
Wearing an all-white outfit, Rock made his entrance while greeting the guests. Soon after he said, “I’m going to try to do a show, N-word, sit down!” Talking about 'Selective Outrage', Rock made a comparison between Michael Jackson and R Kelly. Referring to a friend, Fred, Rock also mimicked the concept of “safe space” and being “seen” and “heard." He also made a comment on the ‘Lululemon’ brand of yoga mats, which in their advertisements wrote that they don’t support “sexism, discrimination, or hate” and sell $100 yoga mats. Rock said, that most people in the room would prefer a $20 “racist yoga pants” which would “whistle N-word," said Rock during the Netflix live.
Taking a jibe at Meghan Markle’s infamous Oprah Winfrey interview on racism, Rock opined, “She hit the light skin lottery. Going on complaining, acting all dumb like she don’t know nothing." Later, he also added that she married into a family that invented “colonialism." Rock added to Markle later by saying that he understands what she is going through, “Black girl trying to get accepted by her white in-laws." With that, he took a jibe at BLACK people saying that though he understands, it’s hard but “it ain’t hard as hard as a White girl trying be accepted by her Black in-laws."
Referring to Robert Kardashian, who “freed OJ Simpson, a black football playing murderer” known for killing “two white people”, Rock sarcastically said, “Kardashians are inclusive! And they love Black people more than Black people love Black."
‘What is WRONG with Chris Rock??????’
The Internet erupted as Rock made incessant comments about race. Throughout his show, Rock scattered numerous incidents where he could be found referring back to BLACK people which many netizens deemed derogatory. One user on Twitter wrote, "CR works really hard to make white people comfortable so they can like him." While another user wrote, "The fact that Chris Rock was totally okay with these white men throwing around the N-word tells me all I need to know about him. Good for Jerry Seinfeld for not participating in the racism. Chris wants to desperately be liked by white men." One user couldn't hide her surprise at Rock using the 'N-word' so much in front of audience, "It’s very strange watching Chris rock drop the n word so much to a crowd that looks predominantly white."
