Internet slams 'douchebag' Chris Pratt after a dig at Anna Faris with Instagram post

Pratt praises wife Katherine Schwarzenegger for 'healthy daughter', leading internet to defend Faris, who's publicly acknowledged her child's issues

Anna Faris is trending on Twitter as of November 4, and it's thanks to her ex-husband Chris Pratt. Angry users have rushed to the defense of the 'Just Friends' actress after Pratt appeared to take a subtle dig at her in his Instagram post for current wife Katherine Schwarzenegger. In his post, Pratt thanked Schwarzenegger for "a gorgeous healthy daughter", which many believed to be a hint towards his son with Faris - Jack.

Adding to his already popular roles as Peter Quill and Owen Grady, Pratt recently signed on to voice Mario and Garfield in upcoming films, choices the internet wasn't very happy with. In fact, the actor has been regularly slammed for numerous reasons over the past few months and was even attacked for being a Trump supporter in 2020. But it doesn't seem to have bothered him. He's been spotted numerous times having a good time with Schwarzenegger, so it does seem like all is well on the personal front.

If there was any doubt about that, you just need to look at Pratt's Instagram post on November 4. "Find you somebody that looks at you like that!!" he said, adding, "It’s her birthday in about 6 weeks. So if I don’t get her anything, I’ll tell her to look back on this post. Love you honey." At first glance, it certainly seems like a very adorable post, but eagle-eyed fans spotted a very subtle dig at Faris in the lengthy caption.

A quick reminder for those that need it, Faris and Pratt share a son together named Jack. He was born two months prematurely in 2012 and diagnosed with a host of health issues such as cerebral hemorrhaging. Luckily for the family, it turned out Jack's vision and leg muscle issues could be fixed with surgery. At birth, Jack had to spend a month in the ICU. In contrast, Pratt and Schwarzenegger share a daughter named Lyla, who was born without any issues.

So naturally, when Pratt said "She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter," the internet understood it as a slap on the face of Faris, who has been very public about Jack's health woes. The language and wording do make it seem like the 'Jurassic World' star is alluding to his ex-wife and Jack, even if he didn't mean to. The post quickly made its way to Twitter and other platforms, as Faris fans began slamming the actor for his choice of words.

"Sending love to Anna Faris who has moved on to happier times with an amazing new husband. Who isn’t a narcissistic douchebag. Like her ex. Chris Pratt," one person tweeted. Another commented, "idk but seems like it would be great to be anna faris. imagine your ex said/did something covert awful and instead of just quietly being hurt and fuming you got to watch the whole internet be like THIS M----------R." One angry user said, "Even as a HUGE fan of his Marvel work, I'm afraid I have to jump on this bandwagon... FUCK CHRIS PRATT. The small jab at Anna Faris and nearly washing his hands of his medically challenged son with her is absolutely disgusting. I'd be fine if GOTG 3 opens with starlord dying.."

"I have two children. One is special needs. If someone described only one of my children as healthy and gorgeous, I’d probably lose my shit. Anna Faris and her beautiful son deserve better than these cheap shots," one person tweeted. Another said, "i'm so glad anna faris is far away and safe from this man." Another angry user said, "Chris Pratt going straight to Hell for what he’s insinuated about Anna Faris. She could’ve potentially died having a second child and he still pushed her: now he’s thanking his new wife for a healthy baby girl after their son has had a life of health complications??? F--k him."

Faris and Pratt split in December 2017 and divorced in October 2018. A short while later, Pratt met Schwarzenegger at a church, which quickly turned into a romance that led to marriage in June 2019. Faris meanwhile is married to filmmaker Michael Barrett. Despite the divorce, it seems the duo is still amicable, having been spotted together with Jack on a handful of occasions.
