Pregnancy has brought Katherine Schwarzenegger even closer to 'dream husband' Chris Pratt
Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger appear to be more blissful than ever with their first wedding anniversary just a little more than a month away. The couple is reportedly expecting their first child together this fall, multiple sources told People magazine.
"Katherine is doing well, and Chris has been taking care of her," one insider told the outlet. "Katherine still calls him her dream husband. They are very happy together."
"Chris has been doting on Katherine, and the pregnancy has brought them even closer," another added.
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star -- who shares seven-year-old son Jack with former wife Anna Faris -- and his author wife have been facing added stress due to the COVID-19 situation. However, they are now trying to "focus on the positives for their family during the lockdown," the source said, adding, "Katherine is very happy to have Chris around every day."
The newlyweds also have a strong support system in their loved ones as they look to expand their own family.
Pratt, 40, and Schwarzennegger Pratt, 30, were spotted enjoying a bike ride over the weekend with the latter's parents Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. The animal advocate also has the unconditional support of her three younger siblings.
"They shared the happy news early on with their family. Arnold and Maria are excited to become grandparents, and Maria especially can't wait for a little one to join the family," the insider said.
Arnold has previously spoken about how his first meeting with his son-in-law Pratt in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. "The first thing when we met, he says, ‘Can we have a workout together? I need to have the inside scoop to the pumping iron,’" he continued, "When I watched him make his moves in the gym, the incline press specifically did it. [That’s] why I wanted him to become my son-in-law. It was the incline press."
Arnold also said, "I’m really happy that he is such a great guy. Not only a very talented guy and a great actor and a great star and all this stuff, but a really kind man and kind to my daughter, which is the most important thing for me."
Pratt and Kat's wedding was a small and intimate affair with close friends and family present. Sharing their wedding picture, Pratt had written on Instagram, "Yesterday was the best day of our lives!"
"We became husband and wife in front of God, our families, and those we love. It was intimate, moving, and emotional. We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives. We are so thankful to our families and our friends who stood with us and grateful to Mr. Giorgio Armani who created a once in a lifetime dress for Katherine to wear and for me, the perfect suit. This morning we feel nothing but blessed," the couple wrote.
During an appearance on E!'s In the Room earlier this year, Pratt opened up to his friend Jason Kennedy about the impact his newlywed wife has had on him, as well as their hopes for more kids in the future.
“She has changed my life for the better in so many ways. My heart, my soul, my son I feel are all so safe with her. She’s a great stepmom," he said. “She’s, God willing, going to be a great mom one day. She’s got great parents, great siblings. She fills in all my many deficits.”
