Chris Noth sex assault allegations: Fans divided over his firing from 'The Equalizer'
On a day when the whole nation was crying over Mr Big’s (Chris Noth) sudden death on ‘And Just Like That’, two women came forward and revealed that Noth is undeserving of all the love he’s getting because of what he has done to them. The ‘Sex and the City’ actor was accused of sexually assaulting two women in 2004 and 2015.
Since then, all the brands and agencies that were associated with the actor have slowly started to get away from him. His talent agency, A3 Artists Agency, has dropped him while his collaboration with Peloton has also been scrubbed. But things got intense when a third woman came forward and accused the ‘SATC’ alum of sexual assault.

The third victim revealed that she was working as a hostess and lounge singer at New York’s Da Marino restaurant in 2010. She was 18 years of age at that time. Although Noth has vehemently denied all the allegations, his collaborators are not planning to take these accusations lightly and are terminating their contracts with the actor. The latest network to part ways from Noth is CBS. The makers of ‘The Equalizer’ have fired the actor from the show after the accusations that were leveled against the actor.
Universal Television and CBS released a joint statement revealing that Noth will no longer be filming “additional episodes” of the show. The decision has garnered a lot of reactions from social media and people did not shy away from sharing what they felt about the step taken by CBS. However, the reactions were really “divisive” because people felt that Noth is being labeled guilty without a fair trial.
One of the social media users was “appalled” by the decision and said that such media trials should be stopped. She wrote, “I am a woman and I stand by all women but I also stand for rights. All rights. People are INNOCENT until proven guilty. These media trials and subsequent firings are appalling and must stop.” Another user shared, “Typical. When it's a sexual allegation by a woman...the guy is assumed guilty until proven otherwise.”

“Did I miss the trial where he was found guilty? Oh, that’s right, anyone can accuse anyone of anything and that’s it, case closed. Whether you like it or not, he has rights too. Firing him without proof is just CBS’ way of protecting its ratings,” another user noted. “That’s pretty awful that nowadays someone can simply accuse you of something & you can lose everything without even an investigation,” added another one.

Another user opined, “I am completely against Chris Noth getting dropped by his agent and fired from CBS based on allegations. Jesus Christ. the world is a hellish place now.”

However, there were many who were happy with CBS’ decision and said he deserved it. “Good. Totally deserved,” said one user after the news of Noth’s firing surfaced online. Another social media user noted, “I liked him as an actor mainly from Law & Order but with the amount & severity of allegations, he should be done.” On the other hand, one of the users revealed that Queen Latifah didn’t want this mess and took this decision. The user wrote, “Queen Latifah is Executive Producer. She is not playing around with that mess.”

“What goes thru these dudes head when they behave this way & given the climate since 2017, I can't get how they think they'll get away with it like in the days when women felt they couldn't speak because they wouldn't be believed. While some still don’t believe women, more people believe,” said another one.

Although people are divided with Noth’s firing, more and more people are coming in the support of three women who have leveled these accusations. ‘SATC’ stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis have also come in support of the women and noted that they are “deeply saddened” by the accusations.
