Chris Hemsworth's marriage to Elsa Pataky on the rocks, Angelina Jolie and intense work schedule are being blamed
‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s marriage is reportedly on the rocks. The couple is allegedly close to “leading separate lives” after the Hollywood star was linked to A-list actress Angelina Jolie.
According to New Idea, Hemsworth and Pataky have hit a rough patch in their marriage after being together as husband and wife for more than eight years. A source said that the problem stemmed from the actor not spending time with his family.
Pataky recently admitted that her marriage to Chris Hemsworth 'isn't perfect' and requires 'a lot of effort'.
"Nothing is as easy and perfect as it looks," she said. "We have those moments where we shout at the kids and then we feel like horrible parents and we have to work at being a couple like everyone else. There are those moments where you fight, and I think you have to put a lot of effort into [your marriage]. As much effort as you put into your work, you have to put into your marriage and into being a dad and a mum.... And it’s constant work."
Hemsworth also had reportedly promised the model-actress that he would take a year-long break from his flourishing career so he could be with his family. However, the actor has not been able to keep his word.
The Australian actor has at least three more projects in the pipeline making it hard for him to get a break and spend quality time with his wife and their three children: seven-year-old India Rose, and five-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan.
“She can’t believe he’s gone back on his word!” a source told Life & Style. Since Hemsworth appears to be putting his work first, Pataky reportedly feels as though they are already leading separate lives. IBT reports that even the children are badly missing their father, according to the source.
Pataky reportedly does not like the fact that Hemsworth has put his career over their marriage. Hemsworth's intense work schedule has reportedly created quite a bit of tension between the couple as of late.
The report has surfaced at a time when Hemsworth is being linked to ‘Tomb Raider’ star Angelina Jolie. Jolie is allegedly interested in Hemsworth because she appreciates his muscular body and considers him a “hot man.”
Jolie is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed her appearance as Thena in ‘The Eternals’ during San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The actress is said to be very excited to be a part of the MCU family.
Jolie and Hemsworth first made headlines after they were photographed sitting together at the Golden Globes after Pataky failed to make it to the event. Ellen DeGeneres asked the ‘Avengers’ star about the photo.
“People were making a big to-do about you sitting next to Angelina Jolie. They were acting... just because your wife didn’t make it, I guess she wasn’t there. They sat you next to Angelina and acted like it was some kind of ‘thing’,” DeGeneres said.
“See, you've done what the internet has done, which is you’ve cropped out my real ‘date’,” Hemsworth answered humorously.
In the full photo, the actor was actually seated next to ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ director Taika Waititi. Hemsworth reportedly said that Jolie was incredible and wonderful and added that he and his wife were fans of the ‘Maleficent’ star before adding that Pataky would be more threatened by his relationship with Waititi than by Jolie.
