MOSCOW, IDAHO: Over six weeks have passed since the murder of four University of Idaho students: Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21. No suspects have been identified yet. The victims were stabbed to death on November 13 as they slept in their off-campus home on King Road, close to the university. Two other roommates survived and slept through the murders. The survivors were on the ground floor while the four victims were on the second and third floor.

After Kaylee's father Steve Goncalves revealed that the authorities told him his daughter's wounds were "big open gouges", Chris Hansen from 'To Catch a Predator' claimed that the murder suspect could be someone who was "obsessed" with one of the girls as the attack was "very personal".

Idaho murders: Kaylee Goncalves' LinkedIn account was 'active' 12 hours AFTER 911 call, says sister

Goncalves had asked Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt how many times the students were stabbed. "She says, ‘Sir, I don’t think stabs is the right word, it was like tears, like this was a strong weapon, not like a stab.' She said these were big open gouges. She said it was quick. These weren’t something where you were going to be able to call 911. They were not going to slowly bleed out," Goncalves told Fox News Digital.

"It’s a bizarre case and when you have a crime of such viciousness, so violent," Hansen told  Fox News.

Hansen further added, “The expert who I have been consulting with believes this is someone who is younger, had this building up inside of them, may have been obsessed with one of the girls who was targeted, her stab wounds were more vicious and different than the other three. It doesn’t appear to someone who is a serial killer in their 40s or 50s and just decided this was a target and they were going to act."

"This is very personal whether it's a stalking case or somebody who has had this anger, obsession well up inside of them and acted," he said.

Moscow police has not named any suspect and is urging the public to come forward with information.
