MOSCOW, IDAHO: Almost six weeks after the brutal stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students, police are still searching for the suspect with no possible leads or murder weapon coming to light. Amidst this relentless investigation, web sleuths have been doing their job by scrutinizing every critical detail surrounding the deaths. The latest point of contention among these online sleuths seems to be the predator’s movements in the murder house.

Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves were found dead in their off-campus accommodation on November 13. The four victims were stabbed to death while they slept at 1122 King Road, where two occupants of the house were left unharmed. Police stated that two of the victims were sleeping on the second level while two were on the third. Citing the claims, web sleuths are now wondering if the killer used headlamps or night vision goggles to move inside the victims’ house without turning on the lights.

"I think it is unlikely that the killer roamed around the house flicking lights on, but this person still needed to see where they were going and needed to see their victims in order to attack. In my opinion, it is likely that the killer wore a headlamp, night vision goggles, or carried a tactical flashlight in one hand.” One Reddit user wrote, “You can also use the red light feature which is much less “bright” than normal white light.”

“No. The house was lit up with a variety of decorative strings of lights and what looked like neon signs. Pics from the house those first few days showed these lights being on. I would assume they just left them on most of the time,” another user wrote while countering the claim. “I think they went in without lights because they would potentially cause attention. I think they used whatever natural light was available and it may explain why they didn't go downstairs,” the third user wrote. The fourth user said, “Headlamps and flashlights are unlikely because it’s bright and someone could see it. The curtains were mostly open and there were neon signs in the living room and the TV on in Kaylee's room. We don’t know about Maddie’s or Xana’s room, but the house wouldn’t have been very dark.”

Meanwhile, the investigators have been reviewing footage and tons of tips to find any possible evidence leading to the killer. Authorities are also appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
