Rick Jones, who was famously known for hosting kids' TV show 'Fingerbobs' has died. He was 84 years old. Author and illustrator Garry Vaux confirmed the news of Rick Jones' demise in an emotional tribute on Twitter on Friday, October 8. "I'm very sad to report that Rick Jones, aka Yoffy from Fingerbobs has passed away aged 84. I initially interviewed him for my book many years ago and we stayed in touch. He was a huge creative spirit, a talented musician and a lover of life. I shall miss him greatly, " he wrote.

No cause of death was available at the moment. We have witnessed the demise of many great stars in recent months. Michael Tylo, Chick Vennera, Richard Donner, Tommy Kirk are to name a few.

Jones began his career as a co-presenter of the popular Play School show, 'Fingerbobs' which aired daily for pre-school age kids. He often played the guitar and sang on the program. Jones started hosting 'Fingerbobs' in 1972, creating characters from finger puppets made of paper. He then went on to forge a career as a musician, fronting the British country-rock band 'Meal Ticket'.

Fans remembered Rick Jones' iconic performance on 'Fingerbobs' and paid tribute to him. One person tweeted, "Every person of a certain age remembers "Yoffy lifts a finger and a tortoise head peeps out". RIP to Fingerbobs Rick Jones." Another tweet read, "R.I.P. Rick Jones, aka Yoffy from Fingerbobs. Remembering happy watching as a child." One fan wrote, "Yoffy from Fingerbobs has left the building (Rick Jones). There is always something endearing about the stars of Children's TV. These are greats that we remember."
