Did Cheslie Kryst predict her own death? Fans find 'premonition' of suicide in Insta post
An old Instagram post of Cheslie Kryst has left her fans shocked as it kind of “predicted” her death. The haunting December 2019 post showed the beauty queen resting on the ground. Kryst’s body was found on Sunday, January 30, after it was reported that she jumped from the 29th floor of a high-rise building in New York City.
Soon after her death, her fans went to her social media accounts to pay tribute and found that particular post which stunned them. It was posted on December 28, 2019, and showed three pictures of Miss USA 2019. The first one was her resting on the road, giving an impression of someone who may have fallen down from the top, while the other two photos showed her smiling and showing off her biceps. She captioned the images as “First workout back be like. mom said she was buying breakfast though, swipe for the glow up lol #HiMom.”

Did Cheslie Kryst leave a suicide note? Miss USA ‘wanted to leave everything to her mother’
Cheslie Kryst death: Former Miss USA's final post hours before fatal fall leaves fans devastated
Commenting below the post, one user wrote, “Her Premonition” along with sad emojis. In the post, Kryst had tagged her mother, April Simpkins, also. She had reportedly left a note for her that stated that she “wanted to leave everything to her mother,” who became Mrs North Carolina in 2002. The lawyer had also once called Simpkins her inspiration. “My mom is my role model. I always look up to her and ask her for her advice. As a state pageant champion, she’s built an incredible A role model, I wanted to follow in her footsteps because I held her highly,” she had added.
Meanwhile, Gayle King, who knew Kryst, wrote a piece for Oprah Daily in which she mentioned, “I spoke with Cheslie’s mother and stepfather yesterday, and her mom told me, ‘Cheslie wasn’t just my daughter; she was my best friend.’ Months earlier, Cheslie had told me the exact same thing: Her mother was her best friend. Not only is her family shattered, but everybody who knew or worked with Cheslie is walking around in shock.”
King went on to say: “When I got a text message yesterday about her passing, I honestly thought I had read it. I simply refused to believe it. Perhaps she had been pushed? Maybe there was some other foul play? Now, of course, we know that is indeed what happened,” before adding: “How do you explain the unexplainable? What was she thinking in those final moments? Did she plan it out? Did something so drastic and traumatic happen over the weekend that could have caused this? There are so many unanswered questions that it scares me. I cared a lot about this girl—and I thought I really knew her, so that’s what I’m struggling with.”
Kryst’s devastated family also issued a statement after her tragic death. It read: “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”
