Cheryl Hines loves to brag about luxe life with Robert F Kennedy Jr despite pushback over his 2024 bid
WASHINGTON, DC: Actress Cheryl Hines can't help but brag about her aristocratic life with her husband Robert F Kennedy Jr, despite the backlash she received for supporting his 2024 presidential run. The 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' star was over the moon after exchanging vows with the political scion in August 2014.
The 69-year-old nephew of late President John F Kennedy and son of late US Attorney General Robert F Kennedy recently grabbed headlines after filing paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run as a Democratic candidate for president in 2024. It's worth noting that Kennedy's father was assassinated while seeking the Democratic presidential nomination in 1968.

'Happy to have snagged this guy'
Before RFK Jr announced his 2024 bid, Hines was "so happy and bubbly to have snagged this guy" and would boast about her husband to anybody who would listen, an insider told Radar Online. "Cheryl brags about their yacht cruises with Robert's brothers, sisters, and cousins, their summers at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, and their home in Brentwood's Mandeville Canyon," the source spilled, adding that the actress felt just like JFK's widow, Jackie O, with a "team of staff and servants to accommodate her every whim."
'She just never quits'
Insiders dished that Hines and Kennedy managed to keep the spark alive after tying the knot at his mother Ethel's home in Massachusetts back in 2014. "She and Robert are so in love and she loves to rub that in too," the source continued. "She just never quits." Some have previously claimed that the couple underwent a rough patch due to his controversial views. The lifelong Democrat and anti-vaxxer is said to have upset his wife after suggesting that Covid mask mandates were harsher than tactics used in Nazi Germany.
2024 presidential run
On April 18, RFK Jr announced his run for president in front of a Boston crowd and acknowledged some of his outspoken stances. "I am not an ideal presidential candidate," he said. "I'm not one of these people who said I have to be careful because one day I'm going to be in the White House." Nonetheless, he vowed that his "mission over the next 18 months of this campaign and throughout my presidency" will be "to end the corrupt merger of state and corporate power that is threatening now to impose a new kind of corporate feudalism in our country."
The White House hopeful has courted controversy in recent years after excoriating decorated infectious disease expert Dr Anthony Fauci's handling of the response to the pandemic. In 2021, RFK Jr published a book titled 'The Real Anthony Fauci' accusing the immunologist of promoting "a historic coup d'etat against Western democracy." He also promoted using ivermectin and the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19, despite neither being recommended by the FDA for treatment.
'He is a fearless leader'
Regardless, Hines has declared that she fully supports her husband's decision to run for president, issuing a statement the same day he made the official announcement about his 2024 campaign. "My husband, Robert Kennedy Jr announced today he will be running for President and I support his decision," the actress, 57, said in a statement obtained by People. "He is a fearless leader who understands the needs of the American people and has devoted his life fighting for democracy," she added.
