Cher says 'dictator' Trump's 2020 reelection will be end of democracy in US: 'He’ll have complete control'

Cher has warned that if President Donald J. Trump wins the re-election in November, it will spell the "end of democracy" in the United States as the commander-in-chief is apparently bringing us closer to a "dictatorship."

The singer-actress launched a series of tweets over the weekend, sounding the alarm against the president as well as defending the U.S. Postal Service and vote-by-mail.

“If Trump wins It’s End Of Democracy,&Start Of trump Autocracy. He’ll Have COMPLETE Control,” Cher tweeted. The Biden backer also reiterated false allegations that the president was ripping mailboxes out of sidewalks and destroying sorting machines. The then floated a conspiracy theory claiming Trump will next try to "dismantle the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Army, and police forces around the country" despite his well-known pro-law enforcement and pro-military stance, Breitbart reported.

The removal and replacement of mailboxes come under standard USPS operating procedures. Nonetheless, left-wing celebrities continue to "fan the flames of panic" using photos of routine mailbox replacements, per Breitbart. Furthermore, it's worth noting that the Obama-Biden administration did not grab news media headlines despite having removed 14,000 mailboxes over the five fiscal years ending in 2017.

Cher also accused Trump of bringing America closer to a dictatorship. “Step By Step We Go Closer 2 Dictatorship,” she tweeted, claiming the president is “Gutting Post Office 2 Stop MAIL-IN Voting.”

The 'Strong Enough' hitmaker raised eyebrows last week after she cataloged her failed attempt to volunteer at a local post office in Malibu, California.

Tweeting about how her volunteering attempt went bust, she wrote: "OK, Called 2 post offices In Malibu. They were polite. I Said 'Hi This Is Cher,& I Would like to know If you ever take Volunteers' Lady Said She Didn’t Know & Gave Me # Of Supervisor.I Called & Said Hi This is Cher Do U Accept volunteers."NO,Need Fingerprints & Background Check.”

Recently, Cher attended a small USPS rally, where she was seen holding a sign with the words “Hey Senate! Snap Out of it!” — paraphrasing her Moonstruck character Loretta Castorini.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy subsequently promised to “suspend” several of his initiatives — including the removal of mailboxes — until after the election is over so as “to avoid even the appearance of impact on election mail". In his statement, he added that "we will deliver the nation’s election mail on time.”

That said, the 74-year-old songstress has been a vocal critic of Trump throughout his presidency. Earlier this month, when the president floated the idea of giving his 2020 nomination speech at Gettysburg, we reported how the 'Dark Lady' hitmaker took to Twitter to proclaim that he should not be allowed to set foot in the town.

Writing in her usual all-caps style, she posted, "IF 4 TIME DRAFT DODGER HAS THE MENDACITY 2 STEP A TOE ON GETTYSBURG, NATIONAL CEMETERY,TRYS 2MAKE SPEACH, COMPARES HIMSELF 2 LINCOLN,HOPE GROUND OPENS,& WE NEVER SEE HIS UGLY FACE AGAIN. Trump says”I’M WAR TIME PRESIDENT” HARRIET COULD KICK HIS ASS & LED BLK SOLDIERS IN UNION ARMY."

Cher's tweet came after Trump said he was considering delivering his presidential nomination speech on the night of the convention either at the Great Battlefield of Gettysburg or the White House.

"We have narrowed the Presidential Nomination Acceptance Speech, to be delivered on the final night of the Convention (Thursday), to two locations — The Great Battlefield of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and the White House, Washington, DC," the president tweeted at the time.

Gettysburg was the site of the bloodiest battle of the Civil War and has been historically seen as the turning point for the Union army against the Confederates, who were defending the slave-owning South. It was also the town where President Abraham Lincoln delivered his iconic Gettysburg Address.
