Spoilers ahead for Episode 2 of 'Cheat'

It is not a good time to be Dr Leah. Katherine Kelly's Leah is getting sucked deeper and deeper into Rose Vaughn's (Molly Windsor) mastermind plan and has practically no idea what is happening around her. Like a deer caught in the headlights, Leah is unable to flee for her life somehow trapped in this wild game that she never intended to participate it.

As of now, one can tell that Rose's fight with Leah goes a lot deeper than where it started. It is no longer the same fight about plagiarism. Sure Leah was under the impression that she was going to ensure she made Rose paid for cheating on her test unaware that that was Rose's plan all along.

Ever since Leah accused Rose of cheating on her paper, Rose took the challenge upfront and determined to prove Leah wrong, goes to immense lengths.

After the ring incident, it is evident that there is a personal vendetta here — that Rose is not just avenging a false accusation. And in order to do so, she is also playing Leah's husband Adam (Tom Goodman-Hill), who obviously, like Leah, has no idea what he is getting into.

She approaches Adam with her puppy eyes feigning sincerity and remorse trapping him. But beyond that, she isn't exactly doing anything. It is interesting to note how and why Adam is so taken by Rose giving her the benefit of doubt several times over his own wife. Plus it's not like there is no evidence against her — Leah points out a photograph from years ago that showed Rose lurking in the background.

All this, however, doesn't seem to deter Adam, who continues to allow Rose to take advantage of the fractured dynamic between him and Leah, which is the only explanation behind Adam's infidelity.

In the upcoming episode, Leah deals with the fallout from Adam's betrayal. But we are still nowhere close to finding out the truth behind Rose's obsession with Leah. Will the upcoming episode shed light on this part of Rose's past?

Episode 1 and 2 of 'Cheat' are currently streaming on AMC Networks' streaming service, Sundance Now. Episode 3 will be out on December 5, 2019.
