Leading brands endorse celebrities like Dylan Mulvaney to increase their Corporate Equality Index scores
WASHINGTON, DC: Leading brands such as Nike, Anheuser-Busch, and Kate Spade, might not be willingly endorsing celebrities such as Dylan Mulvaney. As per reports, the executives from these labels have their Corporate Equality Index or CEI score at stake which is tracked by the Human Rights Campaign. The largest LGBTQ+ political lobbying group in the world, HRC, is empowered by millions from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, among other players.
It issues report cards for America’s biggest corporations with the benchmark set by CEI – granting or subtracting points for how well companies follow HRC’s ‘rating criteria.’ As per HRC data, “Businesses that attain the maximum 100 total points earn the coveted title “Best Place To Work For LGBTQ Equality.” In 2022, 15 of the top 20 Fortune-ranked companies received 100% ratings. The number of companies that made it to the CEI high scores list was at least 840 US groups. HRC was formed in 1980 and started the CEI system in 2002. It is led by Kelley Robinson, who took its helm in 2022 and has previously worked as a political organizer for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

'There’s a threat'
It doesn’t just sit back passively either. HRC sends representatives to corporations every year telling them what kind of stuff they have to make visible at the company. They give them a list of demands and if they don’t follow through there’s a threat that you won’t keep your CEI score,” James Lindsay, a political podcaster who runs the New Discourses site, told The Poston the functioning of HRC.
'This is an outrage'
Mulvaney’s new ad campaigns with Bud Light and Nike annoyed celebrities, including country singer Travis Tritt and Kid Rock, who even posted a video shooting cases of Bud Light. one female Olympian, including Caitlyn Jenner, criticized the move too, where the latter wrote on Nike, “It is a shame to see such an iconic American company go so woke! … This is an outrage.”
