CROSBY, TEXAS: A 17-year-old boy was charged with manslaughter for fatally shooting his co-worker and roommate as she was taking down Christmas decorations at the home they shared. Cayman Wilson from Crosby, is being held on $150,000 bond at the Harris County Jail for allegedly killing Marissa Dikeman, a 19-year-old Houston Christian University student.

According to law enforcement officials, the shooting took place around 9 pm on Thursday, December 29, in the 4400 block of Sherri Lane in Crosby, about 20 miles northeast of Houston. The victim's grandfather told ABC13 that Dikeman got off work at the family’s deer processing business around 7.30 pm and went home with her two co-workers, both 17, to remove the Christmas decorations.

Wilson and the other teenage boy were also Dikeman’s roommates and friends, according to family members. Before grabbing a shotgun and killing her, Wilson was reportedly helping Dikeman take down the holiday decorations. Sgt Greg Pinkins of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, told reporters the firearm possibly belonged to Dikeman’s other roommates, who were not present during the incident.

Wilson killed Dikeman “while playing with a firearm," according to court documents obtained by the New York Post. Shockingly enough, Dikeman's grandparents described Wilson as a “good kid” and said that they do not want him to face any harsh or criminal charges in the case. “It’s bad enough that he has to live with what happened the rest of his life,” Dikeman’s grandfather reportedly said.

Dikeman was the youngest of three siblings and was majoring in educational administration. She was set to graduate in 2023. Wilson will be in court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, December 3.
