Cardi B gets bikini wax during lockdown, fans wonder if she broke social distancing rules
Cardi B has once again grabbed headlines amid the coronavirus pandemic after sharing an Instagram video of herself getting a professional bikini wax at her home on Sunday, April 26.
As a lady got to work on the 27-year-old rapper, the latter howled in pain and screamed through her face mask. However, Cardi's grooming adventure left her fans confused as to whether she was breaking social distancing rules, according to BuzzFeed.
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker held another person's hand while the wax was taking place in the room, and repeatedly screamed, "Erika, Erika, Erika!"
Cardi's fans know that Erika La Pearl has been her make-up artist for a long time. And while it's possible that she's quarantining with the singer, it is unclear if she was present.
Moments later, Cardi asks, "Wait, where's the nail lady?" before another woman is seen holding her hand shortly thereafter.
"Today is pain day!" the 'Please Me' hitmaker wrote alongside the video, leaving her followers in doubt whether she is complying with social distancing measures.
"And Cardi B is getting a wax....Quarantine doesn't have the same meaning everywhere," a fan wrote on Twitter, while another added, "Cardi B getting a bikini wax on her it story has me dead LOL."
"I got so many questions," a third chimed in.
Just a week ago, her husband Offset revealed that his great-uncle Jerry had tragically succumbed to COVID-19.
Cardi herself opened up during a recent Instagram Live session about how the pandemic had affected those "around" her.
"It’s hard to feel good when so many people around you are going through s***," she said Tuesday, before having a chat with former presidential hopeful Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)
Last month she tweeted she had to go to the emergency room due to a stomach illness. However, she later took down the tweets.
"I was literally throwing up everything I swallow and lost 5 pounds in 4days do to stomach issues," she shared on the social media platform.
Earlier this month, Cardi spoke up against Georgia Gov Brian Kemp decided to let some of the businesses in the state start functioning and asked people to go get back to work.
"ROUND YOUR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS!" she said. "Once [they're] sick and in the hospital [with] COVID you won’t be able to see how and what they treating them with. They will literally have them die slow!"
Cardi went on to claim that people who were tested positive were not being treated well in hospitals. She stated the hospitals were not "nurturing people diagnosed with coronavirus with the proper foods or tea to boost their immune."
She further went on to warn people about how the virus can affect everyone. "Your parents, grandparents, or YOU will most likely pass by yourself in a cold hospital with no physical contact with your love ones," she said. She ended her rant stating, "HEALTH OVER CAPITALISM!"
While the economy might be suffering due to the coronavirus, Cardi's net worth sure is not. Cardi has a net worth of $80 million, as per Tecronet. Cardi first made a name for herself when she appeared on VH1 reality television series 'Love & Hip Hop New York' and prior to this, she worked as an exotic dancer.
Cardi B and Offset married in 2017 and have a one-year-old daughter named Kulture.
