Cardi B, with $80M net worth, slams Georgia governor's plans to reopen businesses: 'Health over capitalism'
Cardi B is letting her voice be heard. As coronavirus has struck the world and affected the global economy, Georgia Gov Brian Kemp stated he would want all the businesses to re-open soon. With over 49,950 deaths and 869,172 people testing positive of coronavirus in the US, the economy has taken a hard hit.
Amid this, Kemp decided to let some of the businesses start functioning and asked people to go get back to work. Hearing this, the rapper could not control her anger and decided to speak up. She tried to explain on sending people back to work would lead to more deaths.
"ROUND YOUR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS!" she said. "Once [they're] sick and in the hospital [with] COVID you won’t be able to see how and what they treating them with. They will literally have them die slow!"
Cardi went on to claim that people who were tested positive were not being treated well in hospitals. She stated the hospitals were not "nurturing people diagnosed with coronavirus with the proper foods or tea to boost their immune."
She further went on to warn people about how the virus can affect everyone. "Your parents, grandparents, or YOU will most likely pass by yourself in a cold hospital with no physical contact with your love ones," she said. She ended this by stating, "HEALTH OVER CAPITALISM!"
While the economy might be suffering due to the coronavirus, Cardi's net worth sure is not. Cardi has a net worth of $80 million, as reported by Tecronet. Cardi first made a name for herself when she appeared on VH1 reality television series 'Love & Hip Hop New York' but prior to this, she worked as an exotic dancer.
Cardi never hesitated to talk about her life before she became famous. Ther show brought her a lot of recognition while her personality brought her both love and hate from fans. However, she rose to fame when her song 'Bodak Yellow' released in 2017. The song managed to woo music lovers, who fell in love with her and her music, and the rapper's income quickly shot up thereafter.
The song even managed to become Number 1 on Billboard. Her collaboration with many famous celebrities has allowed her to make a name for herself while also increasing her paychecks. Thanks to her recognition in the music industry, Cardi's net worth was quick to rise in a matter of one year.
At the same time, with 63.3 million followers, Cardi also earns money for any collaboration posts that she makes on her social media. With followers so high, there is no doubt that Cardi's Instagram also plays a part in increasing her net worth.
The singer also makes some extra money when she s performing for events. She reportedly earns $300,000 to $400,000 per show. This number might change according to the place she chooses to perform but there is no doubt these gigs allow Cardi to bask in some family time and take days off of work.
